plans for evermore ~

how is it I’ve forsaken
my plans for evermore –
my want for more than waffles
another sunday morn
papers spread around me
with no one to obsess
o’er how I kiss
how I take my tea
where the lines
have faded now
who will mind the lawn
and who has sworn to memory
the place
I dreamed about
when all the rest
is scattered
none shall know for sure
where I kept my heart
how I loved

. . .

spirits I have spoken ~

pressed
into the pages
here my story lies
a sacred bloom
once crimson
sweet perfume
I close my eyes
and once again
rest beneath the boughs
spied upon
by eyes in search
of mine
melody of nature
music of the trees
ancients raise
a silver canopy
to catch the light
surrendered
by ten thousand
dreamed before
spirits I have spoken
here my heart
a blossom as a kiss
resolved –
as dear my own to taste
the fragile scent
of memory
remains

. . .

to make it right ~

The_World_Around_You__Crossed_by_pan_feylin

as long as I
this fate shall keep
beholding tears of treason
folded close an ancient
opal cross
burns me still
when gathered near –
with memory of another
a time when as a child
I saw it there
dirty golden chain
never knew
for whom it mattered
or what of crops were sold
to make it right
would beauty give of passion
one season to suspend
all was come
where only truth remains
so lovely in the evening light
near enough to heaven
he’d pull her in
she’d take him home again
one more grace
for letting go –
one more lace undone
sentimental white
in trade for
opal rose

what of time
was ever ours
eternity to claim
when roses bloom in winter –
will one recall
our name

tis there we live
immortal beat –
for years beyond our years
a photograph
of a photograph –
as love we reappear

as blessings
where we left them be
a smile remembers when –
love was all we knew of life
– is there we touch
again

until the night
is drawn
across the memory of us
would that another
speak aloud –
a name
the same as love

homeremembersme2

is a part of me
forsaken
when my name
no longer sounds –
when photographs
are scattered
to the wind

when dates
are worn to nothing –
but a mark upon the stone
when the burden
of remembrance –
fails to mend

will there be the one
who wonders still
to places I was loved –
to find my words
a whisper saved

will there I love
again

. . .

beyond the rivers edge

too soon
the rush –
of stars to flight
of lullabies
rehearsed –
warming how our hearts
were broken through

beyond the bend
a river flows –
in rifts of joy
and sorrow
lines are stretched
to frame an endless blue

there you are
awaiting –
with wishes for us here
where love remains
with every thought of you

eternal embrace

she lingered
as a presence –
a prayer
before the dawn
as the music
of her sighs
became his song

he lingered
with each twilight –
without fault
she dared repeat
– as a kiss
became a memory
just as sweet

twas never less
for letting –
love remains
as proof we are
where she lingers
still he lingers
as a light
between the stars

. . .

something more ~

Justthissideof sleep

I know the psalms
each word by heart
written somewhere
tho I’ve forgotten why
love resounds
eternally
the best of me
without a note to play
I dare not sing
unburdened bliss –
I give away
the truth
becoming more
than ever someone else
someone still
could say
how it is you made of me
something more than words
something more
within each sweet
refrain

professing love for me_edited

these
are the verses
speaking my life –
too many more
I dare not complain
of the ways
I may go without saying
a word
breath I might find
has forgotten my name
– the smell
of blackberries
left on the vine

. . .

wherever lovers are ~

holythis

when all my days
are nothing –
but a soothing breeze recalled
when memory has left
the only ones
remained of all

I loved
I loved completely –
with life
til I was sore
who will tell the story best
of all the days
before

who will know
to worry –
for purpose yet undone
as those endeared
beside me lay –
and those resolved
to stone

will e’er my shadow
linger
in places not so far –
or will my name
become a prayer
wherever lovers are

. . .
