do you remember, dreams, faith, life, love, memories, moments, sometimes, still, time

here and still

I’m not the same
as someone said –
green is not my shade
winter white
and maple most refined
who am I to wonder
how it was
you dreamed me home
tis here I found my heart
to let it go

the road remembers
most of it –
a story without end
verses pressed into the names
of stars
sunrise wrapped in blankets
a moment sworn to trust
heaven
always knew
the way to us

under pretense of beginning
I find peace –
solace in knowing
you are there
silver brushed
against the light
promise ‘neath the snow

do you understand
how far a whisper travels
when you mutter
to the darkness
do you know –
of another
not so distant
not the least of far away
who shutters from the depths
that calm her soul

contented in belonging
sometimes the lonely boards
are pressed beneath her pacing
was here
you surely passed
watching for some evidence
she wonders
do you hear
an echo of a murmur –
not her last

smiles

I’m an heir to earth
and heaven
a child of will and wing
sister to the mountains
the forest
and the seas
a voice formed in silence
echoing of soul
more than breath allowing
a promise on the breeze
another night
ten thousand lights
to join the worlds between
I am of love
to question not –
the daughter
of a king

centerhill_nov18

as once I knew
this time would be
as years too short
would circle round
from days
tho long
no longer count
I wonder still
what I shall miss
when words o mine
for none exist

for one more april
shower sweet
another warm july
will tears befall
when leaving comes
for one more this
the rest undone
as lips grown silent
wait again
the taste of wine –
of summer sun

warming verse
upon my brow
love
where love began
what future place
awaits me now
each dream –
a time
by time displaced
for one more
one more everything
another life
by moments held
somewhere filled
by years the same
as these

I feel are passing
a fleeting bliss
how much of all
I love will miss
the warmest tide
against my feet
a blanket spread
of stars

a hand
so certain
thread with mine
another dream
some other
time

. . .

released ~

prayer

how gracious this
my morning prayer
keeps me here too long
filled with names
from seasons past –
or yesterday
the same as new
forgive
and grant me courage
forgive
and grant me peace
forgive
that I might learning
do the same
for all I’ve known
to love again
and all I’ve not
released

beginning again, forgiveness, kentucky, knowing, life, love, promise, remember me, sunset, true

swept

Kentucky made a place for me
with nothing but a sigh
opened doors
and arms to wrap around
I can’t explain
I won’t pretend
there’s more to this
than choosing
more to bluer pastures –
sunsets all day long

was ne’er your plan
a way to make –
one day to come along
whistling as evening fell
carrying your song
what of then
my hand in yours –
calling stars by name
some distance from the mountains
yet near enough for rain

Kentucky wears a golden ring –
keeps my secrets well
I close my eyes sometimes
and hear the carousel
spinning top of wishes made
swirling down the night –
while not so far away
I waltz
in place

. . .

cottage home 2018

how long I’ve spent
in looking back
to a place just out of view
to years before
I counted –
a time before I knew

of light
by shadows mingled
lanterns along my spine
wonder held in boxes
– for a moment
all was mine

as stardust into
wishes –
a promise yet to keep
snow became a lover
– dreamed me back
to sleep
