inIf this moment was all you had, who would you love? Who would you tell to get lost? What would you break free from? What would you create? Where would you go? See, you do know what you want. So, why not now? Love, break free, set boundaries, speak up, create…..love in this moment, not the next. If this moment was all you had, who would you love?

inwhatever more
is still to find –
would trade
of these – familiar days
to know the heat
of one more kiss
a mouth –
would every fear
erase
I’ve heard it said
I know tis true
the painter seeks
with words to paint –
a poet dreams
in colors
not her own
music works against
the fist
to soothe
a restless lover –
nights belong
safe within a song
for one more
brutal shade of red –
a stem of verse
to pacify
creation swells against
the brush –
with ne’er a thought
to words denied

inwe made
of love
this holy church –
wherein we breathe
with trust divine
as one beneath
the rafters –
my soul
with yours entwined
graces come
one Sunday eve –
to fill the hours
where we begin
a steeple raised
o sacred light –
our passions to defend
of ancients left
to guard the night
who shall reap
the best of us –
were heaven
but a moment here –
and all we know
of love

inwherever now
your story waits
with no regard for years
where touch is felt –
I was made
to find you here
where every word
is silenced
by the music of a sigh
breath beneath the
shadow of a shiver
mine
remembered me
this holy grace –
pressed against
a dream
wherein this evermore
I recognize
just the same
tho not the same
I find you like the first
familiar
unfamiliar
as the pull
of ancient skies
. . .

i’ve spent nights
ten thousand more –
in shadows of the moon
suspended just below
the milky way
awaiting you a wish
cast your line
to me –
sail beyond
to oceans you can’t see
where came the news
you’d understand
and want me here the same
as the night
we found each other
in the stars
. . .

a Tuesday
I fell into your eyes
a fleeting thought –
let me go
back into the light
how far
a distant
coming home –
to find I love you
still
with longing
so familiar
arms to fill
for this –
ten thousand yesterdays
were tempered by desire
words
I thought forgotten –
catch my soul
afire

infor every path
another comes
a journey unintended –
sacred truths
of spruce and evergreen
wrapped in fragrant blossom –
moss and ancient waters
heretofore a destiny
unseen
choices where
it seemed were none
loss once deemed as prize
evermore is witness
to the time we took
in finding –
wandering our way to home
as sorrow
filled our eyes
moments held
above the rest –
souvenirs and trinkets
a flight we missed
another dream set sail
highways running
north to south –
a gravel road to nowhere
miles to make
another truth to tell

inwithin the dark
where drift the stars
few are given name
for only in the falling
some are found
let not a prayer
be wasted
a night with arms outspread
pointing to a light
beyond the sun
wherein the answers
glisten
silver blue and gold
memories the heart
has dared to hold
as fleeting as a wish was made
pressed into the dark
a sigh
wherein eternity
is come

inin the still
of not quite over
I find my words again
hushed within the shadows
I’ve become
pressed into a memory
someone left before –
storms awake
and I
am not yet done
thought to go
forsaking us –
one more kiss then I
shall memorize these places
coming home
awkward
as remembering
when first you understood –
how was I to linger
as love already
gone
