longing

so much of me
some you don’t know
– poems I have written
on my soul
I can’t tell you
I won’t tell you
how it is
I’ve surrendered you
remembered you
another day –
again

so much
and who am I
to remind you what is real
of moments come
this destiny to steal
wait for me
at twilight
out beyond the fence
I will show you then
how I love

loosen every season
on all we’re meant to find
– another life
beyond this sweet refrain
let me rest
against your heart
and wake within your dream
move my soul
to wonder
why we came

pacify my longing
share with me
your breath –
linger
lest your touch
become my own
wrap your love
around me –
whisper soft my fate
gather me to memories
of home

from time to time
I reminisce
o’er lines
I never wrote
truths I dared not share
tho no less true
longing spilled to pages
meant for gentle eyes –
an open heart
with space enough
for two

worthless rhyme
you know me now –
with nothing
left to say
poems stacked in boxes
cupboards tight
love betrayed to silence
grieves the dying word –
an empty page
and evermore
to write

is a part of me
forsaken
when my name
no longer sounds –
when photographs
are scattered
to the wind

when dates
are worn to nothing –
but a mark upon the stone
when the burden
of remembrance –
fails to mend

will there be the one
who wonders still
to places I was loved –
to find my words
a whisper saved

again

sundayme

sometimes sweet
oft times bitter –
the taste of yesterdays
but true to love
the worth of either
has filled my troubled heart
with grace

there are no lines
nor rivers swiftly
suffered by the rain
no griefs have I without confessing
everything to gain

let me live
or let me gather
all tis mine or thought for once –
let me pass beyond this slumber
but leave to memory
the whole of us

forgotten

would these few
these hours sweet
deny the years between
– adrift upon eternity
waiting on a
dream

would this day
be burdened –
when filled with all I know
suffered thru the coming back

– another time
to go

would these words
be truth enough
to reach beyond all I hold dear –
written as a verse
to keep you near

would the dawn
approach from some great distance
to become
the first I knew
to love you –

have I loved you
all along
