would that i grieve
the weight of your voice
the warmth of the sun
in your smile
a breeze of breath
recalled to a sigh
moments
where promise we left
wherever tomorrow
remembers me yours
as rain from the roof
falling down
as sunlight spilt
even now by the barn
and carved
through the pines
a careless goodbye
was never intended
the way
turning home
forgotten how sweet
to arrive

moments made over
left with a note
by the gate
tell me again
how long you are leaving
how near
to returning
this missing of late
like promise
made real
as everything
somewhere
out past the creek
rolling in green
remember me now
a vow of surrender
aligned me with stars
with wishes unseen
caught in my hair
do you remember
me now
some sacred divine
with permission
to stay
a lifetime to prove
as a matter of fate
write me a letter
tell me a story
how long are you leaving
how much more
shall i wait

how deeply the sea
with her passions
held in abalone canyons
far from the place
we began

how easy
the flight from above
wings the shape
of gossamer flames
light pouring up

of northern lights
a roll of sacred tongue
reminds me now
how far from birth
another birth is come
to take me in
to lift me up

it felt to love

i hear your breath
above the strain
of raindrops
on the roof
warmth to fill this moment –
where you are me
and i am you
i know this song
ten thousand birds –
words you taught me well
a melody of memories

for sale
i feel the rain
i need your touch
a gathering of wings
fulfill my need
for heaven –
for light
