home, love, memory, now, remember, sometimes, time, truth

for another day
let us be –
lest some other
breath become
of memories refined
a place beyond the sun
where morning wakes
the night
remits
with destinies to grieve
as one
most surely one
our faults to ease
for another touch
every word
suffers my surrender
no way for getting back
for getting home
come this sweet permission
to take
please take of mine
to spare our love –
the only truth
i know

. . .

get me ~

get me to singing
like some old guitar
a bit of boards straining
for tune –
the one you played
remember that time –
chords and crescendos
of me wanting you

get me
to forever
we swore there would be
feather beds
wrapped
with cotton sheets
long nights passed
with but a whisper between –
summer smiles
and kisses –
an old porch swing

get me
to sunrise
without worry for sleep –
questions
for all this love means
move me
to make you –
these lips to beg you
stay
silent reminders
to breathe

. . .

reinvested as the truth ~

a world upside down, age, another life, life, love, mystery, reason, remember, timing, truth

once before
the sun was burnt
against a winter sky –
as snowflakes fell
to hide the path of light
morning woke
within a shade
of charcoal
dust
and shale –
poppies raised
their weary heads
goodnight

prepared to greet
their savior –
a story all but told
how planets carved a path
around the moon
stars succumb
to melting
beneath the evergreens –
lies we reinvested
as the truth

deep within the
stillness
mystery unfurled
as lovers sought the start
of something new
forgotten
to the splendor
of a world turned upside down –
timing slipped
to nothing
we could do

another time
some other life –
a morning much like this
is haunted by a memory
of the one –
a day when flowers drifted
across a winter black
searching out the shadows
for the sun

. . .

“I’ve never loved the wrong person, but I have loved the right people at the wrong time. The wrong life. The wrong moment.”

olittleme

words neglect
the heart of me –
a river without pen
nights I curse
at shadows –
as verses to begin
denied the trust
of long ago
warmth against my breast
solace seeks surrender
in a moment unconfessed
the ways become
of somewhere else –
days rolled long between
from a place deserted
where we are –
words don’t mean
a thing

another sunny day, blessings, carry, eulogy, gather, home, life, love, remember, remembrance, solitude, truth

surrenderme

what silent
loneliness could steal
the mysteries of life
solitude
where joys are known to play
who says we shan’t remember
or think beyond
to this
another time
some other sunny day
for all is well
we carry on
and take with us
our lowly best
of love we’ve given
love we’ve known
our eulogy –
our rest

dreamy

questions
leave me breathless
e’en when the silence falls
when years are passed
unwillingly to night –
tis there
the petals
once reserved
are opened by a sigh

essence unrelenting
as a psalm

remember me
as melody –
verses into one
tracing notes
lilac
shades of stone

breathe to me
as answers come
by names another wore
let me sit
while silently
they dream

. . .

Author’s Note: There are nights when I pull awake with a start, returning from another place – not so far. In the darkness, tears pool as I search frantically for a place to write.

rockiemountainme

for every day
another willed
a time where none
are known
a dawn where once
we lingered
not so long

eternity was passed
into the still
of might have been
a sigh against
the nevermore
of skin

a kiss
where words
went willingly –
with promises to claim
a story weaved
from where I fell
when first I heard
your name

letmego

once
it seems ten thousand
now –
seasons loosed
to wonder
petals let to open
melting blue –
dizzy day
for dancing
there were stars
where once I lay
drifting sweet
and higher –
into you
