age, another time, heart, home, in another life, love, memory, parallel lives, presence, spirit, time, truth, what we keep

in another life
the coffee can wait
time is forgotten
as whiskers
memorize my skin
but I’ll not complain
for fear of less
the wait
to drift between
fragile as these worlds
of might have been

in another life
kids are laughing
you are laughing too
a smile invades your eyes
as I concede
hands reach out
across the day –
a distance not so far
a touch
as I’m reminded
not to leave

in another life
years are past
and still you hold my hand
echoes of a lifetime
nearly gone
folded into letters
tucked against
my heart –
souls are faded
nearly into one

in another life
water falls
blue into the light
my feet are bare
the river cold
as cedars rise above
songbirds sit on branches
familiar as their songs –
silence waits
the welcome of your
love

eternal, life, love, presence, promise, time, truth, undercurrents, what I know to be true

a sweeter sun
than e’er I thought
would rise to warm my face
tides are rolled
to bring us home –
far beyond
this place

as another dawn
a twilight red –
a place where life
remembers
where dreams are made
and wanting fades
verses heed no longer

for every truth
denied a place
another yet remains
in silence
words are spoken anyway

whispered into being –
solace of a prayer
this I know
where’er I go –
I was come
to stay

. . .

where are you
when I am here
waiting your
forever
your lips
a warm embrace
around my tongue
your heat
my senses tarry
through the night
a blissful dawn
wrapped in moments
memory
has won

golden dawn

from silence
came a mountain
a memory
from one touch
a lifeline
stretched the dark
to wake us up

a song
we know the words
by heart
though never knew
their taste
a breath we held –
an eternity
in trade

from the life
we might have waited
comes another
without pause –
for all we were
before we came
into the realm
of us

. . .

but this ~

suddenbloom

might you break
against my willingness
to take of all you need –
while I shudder
beneath your thunder
at my shores

when awakened
by a kiss
shed no tears
for lifetimes missed –
for mornings
just as fair –
moments left behind
somewhere

while the storm
lays waste
our memories –
of everything
but this

proprietary weakness ~

closerthanthestars

I remember well
the season –
mercury and venus
a watchful moon
still takes my breath away
counting time by wishes
made for one another
whispers
folded round us –
stay

I’ve reached the age
where years no longer matter –
fissures to a dream
another page
moments I remember
a proprietary weakness –
I pass the field
we loved in
every day

grace (2)

for every you
encountered
upon this mortal plain –
some other me
was buried on the way
another vow
though misconstrued
of when or why
we came
seeking something more
to understand
though nothing quite so simple –
nothing we can prove
to those who swear allegiance
to everything
we knew

touch

I am the color
of rain
when the rainbow declares –
a bright stripe
of red
to the blue

I am a chorus
of blue jays
brushed into flight –
when life
gives us all
we aspired

I am the taste
of October –
sun on your lips
a place to pull over
when miles
are worn down

I am morning
hung over
the cool breath
of night –
when pulled by the moon
into verse

. . .

here was last ~

whereabouts
and red Novembers
scarlet cups
where heaven hides
in open hands
green and hungry
raining sheets
of memory

I’ll be home
wait the morning –
dim with ease
the winter lights
above the door
where boards are twisted
where here
was last
I held your breath

fromheretohome

in the gracious greys
of just before
sunlight spills the dawn
darkness pulls
his tender heart
to mine
silence rings
with angels
rafters bend and sway
heaven wanders
not so far –
not so far away
from evermore returning
words without a sound
to grieve ten thousand
mornings
with a sigh
love is but a moment
of light before
the dawn
a dream denied
the safety
of the night

Author’s Note: As the result of an ectopic pregnancy in 1984 , she required
a blood transfusion. It saved her life, but took something in return.

Testing wasn’t the norm, and she contracted Hepatitis C.  It would
not relent, and claimed permanence via liver cancer in 2012. This weekend,
hospice was called in.

She waits, and those who love her pray for a miracle. And yet,
already she is one. For Q with love always.
