comfort, dreaming awake, life, love, memory, nature, time, trust, truth

last i knew
the creek was gone
weeds to hide the barn
a falling down
as rivers from the sky
miles beyond
remember this
solace of surrender
silence sworn
to distances between
fuel of forgotten
lives
hastened by a truth
someone stole
my heart
and let me live
loved beneath
the jealous eyes
of jupiter and mars
gathered as a moment
almost
but never gone

save me one last time
or let me dream

we were here
like this
I thought it was magic
the way the wind blew
songs thru my hair
how my life tasted
when blessed by your kiss
words
but a sigh
I remember it well
has it been forever
another life lived –
far from the place
you discovered me there
warmed by the stirring
a solace
I knew
was as near as your
heart
come to anchor
my own

e’er i decide
some solace to take
in a memory
ten thousand lives old
in the crush
of winters
pressed to my heat
a fire burning
still
where my heart
used to be

barter, blessing, comfort, grace, home, love, morning where I am found, sometimes, story

secreted away
as the eldest daughter
of a favored son
a will that gave
away the farm
was never mine to give
how much of these
were pardon
for the ways I am
with you
how much I gave
without a thought
of all there was
to lose
morning sits
beyond the frost
as sure is warmth
to come
carried by
the wondering of
who was I before
a sideways glance
to alter fate
a cloud to hide
the moon
more than this
as heaven here –
evidence
of truth

comfort, for only this, home, life, love, nature, porch pleasures, seasons, silence, southern, summer

summer rests
in humid slumber –
the soothing drum
of ten thousand bees
lone cicadas roll as shadow
against the heart
a storm of wings
silence sweet
her music rocks me
as evening falls
and lights come out
witness feels the soul
with pleasure –
the proof of love
we dreamed about

another life, assurance, comfort, dreams, life, love, morning, sleep, that thing I do, truth

careful
lest the dawn arrive –
shall we linger
with our dreams
decided not the weight
for days ahead
let us languish
still unknowing
as one with all
we keep –
safe within the breath
of words unsaid

undeclared
the portion
if you must go
then go beside –
leave the heart where I
am moored
the sanctity of home
a velvet understanding
forgiven to the light
pressed against
the certainty
of morn

had I nothing
but your silence
your warmth within the night
I’d worry not for water
deny my need for more
than your breath
where I am hungry –
words where I
have none

comfort, little river tennessee, lover, memory, mystery, nature, poetry, soul, spirit, trees, wild

would that I know you
as I know the trees –
as a wind rushing warm
from the south
your sigh as of honey
fabled by bees
as solace when words
no longer appease
would that your hands
be as birds coming home
and liquid as water
flowing wild
over stones

a name upon my lips, blessings in sorrow, burdens, come around some sunday, comfort, divine truth, intimacy, moments, protector, stars

let me mend the part
which hurts the most –
and love where needed best
let me whisper
when no other vow will do
let the essence of my promise
be enough to calm your soul
when I speak of love
you know I speak
to you

let me ease whate’er
needs easing –
let me bear what dreams can’t keep
I will hear without you saying –
I will feel what I can’t see

let me take of all
and take some more
whate’er you have to lose
I will guard the night you sleep beneath
and brave the stars
for you

when I am here
waiting your
forever
your lips
a warm embrace
around my tongue
your heat
my senses tarry
through the night
a blissful dawn
wrapped in moments
memory
