for the purpose

as love
who we’ve become
in the darkness
it seems –
a people of faith
not enough
I’m guilty
as others –
moreso that some
convincing myself
of my right
but wearing
the truth –
it sleeps with me still
and keeps me from being
a light

the warmth of your hands

of your fingers

pages and pages
scattered by rhyme –
letters like leaves
falling down
love resurrected
from indigo blood –

aloud
