Willmeremember

there is a fault
aligned with love –
a crooked tear within the fold
what with eyes
the mind might wonder –
won’t be measured
to the soul

a moment
resurrected
time and time again
a willingness so easy  –
the very best of all
the truth
o’er which we linger
despite everything we know –
held within a memory
of the fall

eternal embrace

she lingered
as a presence –
a prayer
before the dawn
as the music
of her sighs
became his song

he lingered
with each twilight –
without fault
she dared repeat
– as a kiss
became a memory
just as sweet

twas never less
for letting –
love remains
as proof we are
where she lingers
still he lingers
as a light
between the stars

with sweet regard
a warm caress
can burn a soul in two –
or purge a dream from waking –
near enough
to coming true

catastrophic
tendencies –
tho born of good intent
to make of nothing
something
more –
something more
than this

a stolen kiss
no longer missed
leaves hunger still for more –
surrendered into folly
every love
we loved before

– breath
when there is nothing left
what kiss
would I
refuse

what sorrows
meant to suffer –
for joy when others fail
a spark beyond
the dark –
beyond the veil

when asked
what would I give
what might I take if only one –
what dream of mine
will linger
will linger
when I’m gone

gathered mine

in the hush
before a star becomes
a path across the sky
before our wish is fated
to come true
remember how it was
to count them all
to speak their names
one by one
a trillion lights
come for me
and you

as simple then
the way recalled
tho now it all seems strained
to recognize the wealth
beside the gold
to see the truth
when all the rest
is bent to break us down
forgotten
what the heart
was meant to hold

The wanderer
Is met with angry skies
And nowhere
Quite the same
To lay me down
With words
A touch mistaken
A long way back
To find
The road is gone
The brightest star
Alone
Beneath this page
For turning
Numbers
Nameless fate
Fortunes raised
To hide
The deepest scar
Proof that I am healing
Evidence of love
Roads I carry still
Beneath my skin

reflection

rivers
remember
their way to the sea
swallows by memory
come home
across each beginning
to a time
without name –
how sweet each surrender
to places unknown

backward and onward
upward
set free –
ten thousand lives
to recall
mercy is taken
when all else is lost –
grace in desire
to fall

the edge of forever
but a journey began –
willing our way
to return
stars without memory
of a wish
spoke aloud –
long before night
thought to burn

confused
by a promise
I’ll come back to find you
warm as a whiskey –
slow let me learn
of moments made sweeter
of a morning
left broken –
to memories scattered
let me return

to a time
I was willing –
and there you were welcomed
as shadows to dancing
whispers goodbye
telling of dreams
red swirling sunlight –
a cascade of reasons
for your hand
holding mine
