already now
the twilight rests
against the threat of night
where dreams
I can’t recall
await my sleep
already there
I’m missing you
without regard for days

another dawn
beyond my will to keep

a name unspoken
in silence stills
to bring this aging heart
to tears
released the ache
of living left –
to find of heaven
moments here

a place removed
unclaimed by grief
beyond the realm
of yesterdays
returning light
an endless sun –
where I am yours
to love
always

of silences
i traded –
(let me in)
crimson places
fallen
i recall
days beyond what mattered
before i knew to know
the echo of my
voice
upon the snow
of breath
i still remember
(let me in)
memories forsaken now
as whispers
to the wind
of names
and places
someone may have tethered
to my heart
seems now the page
is empty
save for this –

i shall wait
your permission
save for these wishes
this eager beginning
tell me
somewhere
you loved me another
some other
this way

take of my restlessness
make for me
something
pour me a life
from your will
should ever i fade
let heaven
remember
another beginning
a place
we are still

hold me to circumstance
breathe of my sighs
clear every ache
from these lips
gather me home
a promise surrendered
the last time
you knew me –
was another
like this

or soul to spare
wordless words to find
somewhere
beyond this aching –
are whispers
of divine

had i known
when first we met –
of longing unconfessed
your heart
within this beating
vows of restlessness

i never heard
but for the one –
your days were meant
for mine
as e’er another
soul to spare
or wordless words
to rhyme

to rattle

words i dare not worry
lest i grieve
the path i took
to find you –
love we came to be
one night i saw
you there
beyond the trees
when morning
you awakened
to understand my ways
how many tears
this longing to appease –

the hand
that holds my heart
the lips that warm
my name
a summer dream

to me

my head has no say
in these things that I keep
the touch I allow
when the night
falls to sleep
when night birds are restless
I feel with my heart
every sigh
for repeating –
tis a place
where we start
at the eve of forever
where again
we are new
my head has no say
when reaching
for you
my heart still remembers
what my head
can’t recall –
how we loved
past the season
once was ours
once was all

there is breath
when slumber takes me –
dreams beyond
this dream
constellations
riddled by the night
there are stars
where nothing glitters
but for memory
of blue –
another time
my wishes all for you
there are words
where none are needed
tracks upon my skin
poetry deciding me

shadows
where the window sits
open to the sun
touch to fill
the silence
before the morning
comes
