how many turns
the coming back –
to love beyond my reach
beyond my name –

the memory of home

silence swells
in reason –
whispers ease me now
remembering a ways
I came alone

a passing on
of everything
in nothing I have said –
stories bear me empty
to the throne

here and still

I’m not the same
as someone said –
green is not my shade
winter white
and maple most refined
who am I to wonder
how it was
you dreamed me home
tis here I found my heart
to let it go

the road remembers
most of it –
a story without end
verses pressed into the names
of stars
sunrise wrapped in blankets
a moment sworn to trust
heaven
always knew
the way to us

and heaven
a child of will and wing
sister to the mountains
the forest
and the seas
a voice formed in silence
echoing of soul
more than breath allowing
a promise on the breeze
another night
ten thousand lights
to join the worlds between
I am of love
to question not –
the daughter
of a king

how gracious this
my morning prayer
keeps me here too long
filled with names
from seasons past –
or yesterday
the same as new

and grant me courage

hopesanddreams

i’ve made my peace
with living
deciding what to keep
tis love i count
around and ’round
when falling off to sleep

i can’t abide
a moment spared
lest it be divine
i won’t be bent the burden
of truth
that isn’t mine

the day may dawn
tho i don’t see how
for sorrow and regret
let ne’er my tender heart reside
in pain
i’d best forget

what memories
would hurt invade
o’er those most surely blessed
– would cast a shadow
o’er my days
and curse my soul
at rest

when I see you again

when day returns to shadow
and dust –
resigns to dust
when words are sworn to silence
as treasure into rust
when the last goodbye
is spoken
in a language few will know
when vows are broken
as truth unfurling
at this quiet letting go
the soul decides
of stories cleft –
an ache for what has always been
when the name we wore
in living
becomes a whisper
on the wind

dreamy

now and then
a song I hear
above the sound of falling
a lesson much the same
as stars deny
eternity and almost
were you there
to promise someday
we’d find our ways
across this great
divide

how often here
I wonder why
and question more than listen –
to answers come
sometimes while still
I sleep
beneath a road
of diamonds –
a path to evermore
glistens bright
with souls
I swore
to keep
