somewherestill

of ache –
I’ve no memory
but for love remaining still
beyond this night
what sorrows shall persist
as shadows on the coming back
of all I know is true –
life is more than
names we wore –
tis moments known
of bliss

living goes
the ways of death –
tho some things never change
the autumn night
weaves flannel
on my heart
spring is written
every place –
my feet are turning green
as dandelions blowing
in the yard

were heaven need
of time or place –
I knew of you this way
where passions still –
a touch would bring me ’round
across the great dividing
beyond the evening
storm –
awaiting me
a moment to be
found

. . .

yesterdays we were ~

moments

forever now
eternities
waiting to become –
the same as moments
yesterdays
we were

quiet
on the meadow
as morning secrets burn
through the glass
as prisms
on your skin

stories
not pretending
tell of us somehow –
for years they’ll wonder
how it was
we knew

the moon
was surely watching –
as stardust on my breast
words I never heard
them sound
so sweet

life is come
and in the place
we’ve put aside
to keep –
sitting now in pieces –
as morning light
to love

. . .

hands i held before ~

resurrection

if ever
i were asked to give –
of everything i own
were sorrows but for tears –
a garden grown
names repeated quietly
indifference to the night
– of touch
the heart reminded
by failing light

would e’er i know
or e’er i dream –
no cause for letting go
of places
i was meant to love you so
lest ashes blow
or winters grace –
some wreath upon my door
or longing fit
as hands i held
before

would e’er i curse
the sure release –
of moments gathered here
of lives to come
but none as this –
so dear
my knees to bruise
i know they will
i fall most every time
repeating words
of gratefulness –
for all was once
(is ever) mine

. . .

. . .

missing
seems the only word
to show for ache
and sorrow
places deeper still
the passing wears
canyons into echoes
speak of love
as one –
oceans swear allegiance
to the rain

lonely
wears a fancy name
as souls in love
with leaving
held the bar much higher
than the heart
captivated
someone else
I thought of once
in parting –
know me now
but never all the way

. . .

blessings

beyond the path
of once begun
what road shall take us home
tho weeds are grown
and wicks have burned away

will wing’eds
go before us
as twilight thru the trees
as secrets brushing soft
against the day

beyond the will
of knowing –
a place of quiet waits
within the glowing
restlessness
of night

magic wraps
her evergreen
arms around the moon
– wonder burns to love
a crimson light

beyond the veil
of questioning –
where presence is unknown
as one we are forever –
let us go

across and through
the wilderness –
to find the ways we loved
were come for us
and in our seeking –
home

. . .

without the ache ~

richerme

before
and still
the shadows come
to grace familiar light
as fragile once was fallen
from the sky

pled apart
for grieving –
one for me and naught
the twilight paled
as slumber questioned why

awake for me
the longing –
was left by touch divine
as sacred now the pleading
slip away

carry me
marry me
doubt me not tomorrow
another sun shall break
against the pain

willows lean
into the cause –
without the ache complaining
somewhere near are sparrows
turning home

tethered by a promise
almost
not forgotten
there shall be
my welcome back –
to find this way
alone

. . .

something more to dream ~

hometome

across
into
ten million miles
wing’ed lovers fly
eager as the pull
to home –
of once familiar skies

never knew
the way –
never felt the same
was something more to dream
to love
as I was loving you –
every mile between

as memory
committed now –
to feel what is your song
the weathered beat
of rhyme
is versed – equaled
by
my own

as thunder
rushed from lightning
falling back in time
the universe has made
a place –
for leaving words
behind

. . .

one to change it all ~

whereverIam

were our story
without ending –
the road would lead us on
forgotten not the turning
or the fall
reminders of eternity
wink and they’ll be gone
hands to hold –
and one to change
it all

eighty years
or sometimes ten –
a garden loved by thorns
a rusty metal rocker
hides the shade
baskets stained by picking
weeds to bind the fence
bees are telling
every plan
we made

a worn out
sunday prophet –
folds his bible near
tho none can read the name
it used to hold
leather bound by promise –
love would get us through
trees are bending
double
in the cold

I been down
and got back up –
to know
(I know) of love
of seasons undecided
by the light
of passing into paradise
to live beyond these days
gardens yield for tending –
somewhere sweet
tonight

. . .

sweeterthis

let me
remember
the heart of revealing
wrapped in surrender
alive in your eyes
grant me
a moment
when all is forsaken –
but the smell of your skin
the song of your sigh

give me
forever –
no more for this passing
of evermore come
the intention of flame
prayers for delay
the morning forgotten
would silence give room
the sound
of my name

show me
to know you
the same as was then –
another we lingered
tho lifetimes ago
fill me
with storybook tales
of tomorrow –
trade for my breathing
your own –
nice and slow

let me
grant me
fill me for keeping
something this sweet –
for another shall end
life before living
leave me to wonder
give me
receive me –
take me again

. . .

waiting this too long ~

remembered

were the flowers blooming
yellow –
last night while in my dreams
I stood beneath
a cross
and watched it rain
I remember someone saying
we’d never be the same

cried but I’m not sure
I felt a thing

of taking
I’m not ready
to decide my journey done
hearts to touch
and winds I haven’t seen
blown as north
above the pines
to split my world apart

the universe
remembers me
the same

lying down
or standing up –
waiting this too long
the dream is worn
to pieces –
by my night
