what place do I keep
in your memory –
what corner mine
of your heart
are there windows there
overlooking your life
– a garden
we dreamed
in the night

do you wonder sometimes
to the way we became –
paths never journeyed before
– how the warmth
of your hand
seem fitted for mine
as love seeking reason
for more

are there days
recollected –
with sun in your eyes
light through a window
where shadows
became
the difference in living
as silence recalls –
a memory tethered
by name

wild and free #1

I spoke into the silence
of an ancient winter wind –
I gave of every secret
willingly
assured of her allegiance
far beyond my dismal days
– would gather
me across eternity

names I have surrendered
the taste of memory –
remnants of a language
once I knew
making my confession
to an everlasting love
– endearing me to places
wild and true

I wonder where she whispers
to the mountains
to the shore –
with graces not so different
from my own
a valley grown with purple sage –
a garden’s rich perfume
– carries me to places
I belong

for every time
you left me
beneath a cobalt sky –
was another
when you taught me
how to fly

for every hurt
I carry –
a memory of trust
another place
awaited –
just for us

for every chance
worth taking –
were nights I grieved alone
– yet love is all
I really need
to know

for every sigh
another fell –
moonlight to my skin
for every time
I found you here –
I let you go
again

walkinghometoday

will e’er there be
a dream too small –
or warmth left unimagined
as trade for love –
we waited more
than years

as witness
to some other dawn
where once we gave a promise
returning life –
from moments
scattered here

remnants of
a million lights –
stars we called by name
vows we made
ten thousand years
ago

another time
the heart decides
each coming back to love –
reminders of
the only truth
I know

yesterhere

wonder sits
in empty sinks
as proof of my surrender –
a cloudless blue
denies the call for rain
memory returning
of a day I knew you well –
wishes made
another to remain

solace bears
a single touch –
beyond the want for leaving
lines erased
by all we dared to dream
loving arms to wrap around
souvenirs for keeping –
blessings for the journey
stretched between

for all I am
this little known
as truth again becoming –
a way beyond
the circumstance of will
as want for nothing
time is left
with moments sweet
(remember)
hands –
almost forgotten
how they feel
