sweet the flush
of destinies
whene’er the world grows calm
as there beneath
each tender tree –
eternities are known
tho burdened not
by stories left –
forsaken by the truth
would still the heart
from beating –
here alone
frail the myth
of magical –
sacred paths revealed
with worry not for sorrows
washed away –
breezes blow
across into
the proof of love’s refrain
faith has come
another dream
to save

how am I to wonder
and still
the morning comes
fresh as tears
to grace the baby green
petals begged to open
sleepy eyes awake
eager now to hear
the story told
of distant fields
and gardens fair –
winded wills and worry –
forests drawn in aprons
of a song
played within the stillness
of one more time
I’ve gone
far beyond the touch
that is the dawn
how is now
I’ve traveled
beyond the reach of dreams –
beyond the safe abode
of tethered night
walked with stars
and tripped my way
into another light –
brushed aside the veil
to free my soul

as oceans
so as I –
assail on summer leaf
hindered not to journey
by the breeze
balanced top a tidal wave
soft vanilla soul –
pressed to flight
wherever
I am bound
as tenderness
prevailed –
to charm the ancient elm
mesmerized by falling
let me fall
eager as the morning wren
lacking not the urge
as comfort come
in yearning
for the sky
dreaming now
remembered
as a place
my longing knows –
petals flutter down
in sweet parade
floating unencumbered
as essence
into light –
gathered now desire
to reach the sea

millenniums of growing
that I might
hold the seed –
became of seventeen
and twenty-five
became of growing wiser
one lesson
at a time –
would fall between
the fleeting dreams
keeping me
alive
a broken gate
a rusted lock –
and leaves are piling up
lofts are almost empty
yet I cling
onto the vast unknowing
falling through
the sky –
flickers tell of spirit
questioning
the ways before
revealing this –
a pathway through the light
roads are gone
but still the heart defends
a muted celebration –
souls unfolded now
breathless as a bloom
to wake again

stilled
within a silence
I’d forgotten how it felt –
strained against another
left unsaid
taken
by forever dreams
beyond my lover tears
fated list I made
for why I was
stayed behind –
kept inside
sitting with my sadness
baking bread
and singing to the night
circles drawn
to restlessness –
let me be the longer
folded into joy
the storms betrayed
echoes of a sorrow
cross the darkest sea –
safe within
the drowning –
reminders now to swim

southern wings
have stayed the north
forgotten by their kind
as far above
another land
they roost in foreign skies
warmed against
an almost there –
but who can say
for certain
where the blurring lines
were crossed again
maples weep
where butterflies
hang on silver summers
rains are come
to wash their dreams –
to wash their dreams
away

long the night becoming
in shadows of the dawn –
stars await their moment
with the sun
love remains unspoken
as a cooling autumn breeze
gathered now in arms
of evergreen
circles of forever
are writ in quiet there –
reminders of the passing
– not the end
whispers of forever
sit for ages with the light
in silent sweet surrender
we remember why we came
