by my way

in the brittle brown
awareness
color of my eyes –
carved within the canyon
of discord
swelled against my longing
a distant sweet
resound –
of times before
where leaving I
remained

swirled in cloths
of mystery –
fell to fields of clover
spent the night
in rivers
of the stars

who am I
to ponder this –
who I am
to lessen –
the treasures come
as life revealed
almost over now

bathed in pools
of lunar spring –
as jealous
nights made watch
polished slick the stones
that wore my path

familiar as the longing
was coming round
to be –
as one
will be remembered
for the coming back
to me

tender now
the almost touch
of hands restored to heart
fluttering beneath
a sacred wing

. . .

Because sometimes, we need reminders that the things that matter most aren’t the things that take up the most room.

May your day be blessed with moments of bliss, and may hearts that hold you wait patiently while you play.

My love,

Bobbie

redriver cemetary road

remember me
to pebbles –
curs’ed love undone –
as truth became a rub
against your soul

the weary plight
of mortal stone –
was broken by the fall
reflecting now
on places –
we’ve forgotten
to recall

to those who wait
and those who keep –
a fire burning hot
are crouched
within the darkness
dreaming now –
of dreaming
not

the coming back
so foolish –
what was meant
of what we said
how many lifetimes
waiting
for someone
to make the bed –

someone
to make the coffee
a love to darn the sheets
how many tears
with no one there
to see

the hurt is buried deeper
than we ever
thought we’d know –
a road runs hard
beside us –
takes of joy
an angry toll

the way of weeds –
of crooked briar
a canopy of braid
is stretched above the path
we meant to take

endearing us
for always
beneath the weight
of life –
standing still
where winter pebbles
graze

. . .

laureline
come the path
forgotten me –
as rivers carry stones
with memory of an ancient
water’s rise
in streams beneath
above the past
sentiment of standing
still as death
before the autumn lies

crush to sands
this still old self –
lost from all that was
wherever now the willow
does confess
with rings beneath
and tales untold –
breezes to recall
moments pressed into
her wilderness

. . .

waited ~

oncewasme

purple gauze
and great big plans
incense burning hotter –
for ways into the past
we’d never come

sworn to meet
though who knows how
or when the time
for leaving
the universe
remembered us
this way

leaning long
outside the door
offering surrender
I fall again –
whene’er I say
your name

gypsy moth
is swimming
in echoes we’ve forgotten
light is balanced
soft against my sin

then as now
a moment here –
and how was I to ever
think another lost
was never gone

lie again
within my reach –
swirl in day old coffee
forever once
we waited –
another breath to come

. . .

missing me ~

missthemstill

of empty wells
and burned out places
something still
within remains –

of quiet truth
denied a singing
comes again
each silent
night

as falling fell
the ghost of ashes –
was grieved
for joy
our living much

full moons rise
to breach the morning –
forgotten now
the glow
of loss

. . .

fire flys ~

beyond the pines

roll me down
against the stones
float my soul
to heaven
turn my eyes
to stary skies
most have never seen

I’ve heard a few
were painted
to ancient chapel walls
and wondered I
of fools
to never know

a blacker veil
wraps the edge
of city lights for reaching
diamond fields
unnoticed by the sun

fireflies
forgotten
by a wish that fell
one summer –
chasing dreams of magic
– lightning
to the ground

. . .

remembered me ~

rememberedme

as twilight clings
in morning sweat
of love’s remembrance found
longing mates
with memory
somewhere

visions cast
an awkward glance
to angels unaware –
are swinging from the branches
of my heart

last year’s hope
is this year’s ache
and some –
they stay forever
willed into existence
by the sweet embrace
of light

. . .

reaching ~

findmestill

a gentle boy
tho no one knew
the path he must have made
wondered more than I
to why he came
with silver minnow leeches –
carved against a rock
slipped into the places
I remain

somewhere springs
an ancient tide
of endless crystal beaches
last I heard
the earth was come
around
to see your way
would understand
words I never said-
footprints glowing red
in sheets of clay

bide your time
take of mine
the reasons we remember
vine was strung from evergreen
as once I loved you
more –
penning notes
forever wrote –
to slips of oak and willow
poems came to rhyme
against the day

traded me the sunrise –
forgiven
us the night –
one more story
whispers us away

. . .

silence

for moments
I have traveled –
lost my way
sometimes –
and swam in silver depths
beyond the pond

wishes of reflection
as streamers curled the night
– pardon me
the way they spelled
your name

open arms
and we began
somewhere east of eden
a blanket made
of flannel – crossed
with pale

once or more
the lying left
in curses by the fence
as tresses braided wheat
into a smile

hand me downs
and where I’ll be
should e’er the taking
bring you –
home another way
forgotten truce

maps betrayed
for tracing –
down every rural road
– spare the wheel
and let your soul
decide
