more than word ~

beauty more

from once
another fated –
we went searching
for the words
would change our
understanding
of the light

wandered far
and wide it seems
for one more
sacred verse –
would open wide
the eyes
denied to see

was ever
love made sweeter
by the echo
of a name –
or poetry define
the tender soul

where am I –
who am I
and there –
the mystery
resolved to more than word
before you came

. . .

all the same ~

such am i

more than one
of all we’ve known
lands beyond our fathers
touched as one
the sands beneath
the sea

remember –
I remember
the beauty of becoming
something more
for love you came
to free

of worlds remain
forbidden
by the way
you turn your head
swirling in your silver
let me be

flickers float
behind these lids
reminders
 all the same
of places I am still –

remember me

. . .

of days ~

remembered

of lessons
learned over –
revealing to me
the places where once
I lay down
of choices made sweet
by their bending
with mine
voices to echo
a moment
 divine

of wonders
I can’t help but yearn
for anew –
another someday
we shall find
how dear the surrender
of days
barely gone –
shall pass
through eternity’s
eye

in silence
I hear you –
in living I love
no different for ages
 the past unrehearsed –
the start
where beginning
some other
one day –
immortal
eternal our verse

of promise –
are words
 unwritten to tell –
would honor the places
I’ve known
lessons in loving –
mysteries fall
as willing the heart
to return
to its own

. . .

our one ~

here

of ways
I came
you taught me
found me here before
remembering
the honey
was your kiss

forgotten not
your secrets
whispered to the wind
– flowed beyond the window
of our one

your light
for moments given
as words were pushed away
reflecting me
into your eyes
of moon

gather me
I asked you then
still to wait an answer
how long to keep
the night
beyond the dawn

. . .

veils of understanding ~

still

might I recall
the last we lingered
or last night’s dream
of dancing bears
words recited –
seven seasons –
have passed my window
unaware

of ageless places
unseen patterns –
notes known not by violin
float in breathless
expectation
of times intent
to pass again

dark clouds wreath
a pink horizon
lightning scores
my feather bed
veils of understanding
never
held for long –
this restless death

pluck my bloom
before the harvest
pleads the willing stalk in two
before the rights
of early autumn –
worry what of promise
true

. . .

somewheres ~

come

beg my confession
be weighted with lies
would torture the cleaving
of worth –
shared by a stutter
worn round my neck
as proof of another –
a once noble life

strain not to listen
as stories retold
of faraway
somewheres
we might have known well
garnered to pages
the wealth
of it all –

but trust to my silence
a love undefined

. . .

carry me ~

one I waswarm my cup
within your thirst
my calm against your storm
write my name
in places
none can see

set my spirit
fields afire
rise to fall again
pour your every sunrise
to my leaves

mercy spools in sweet caress
no need this time
for words
of where we were
forever still
our silent hymns
are heard

carry me
ten thousand miles
and I shall do the same
shall be your home
when home
is past –
an ember of
your flame

lines to cross ~

 comfort my

were passion
but a line to cross –
a turn of anguished page
(conforming not)
the heart to fear –
or sorrows to assuage

were comfort here
and only this –
why tarry
come to stay
(and bring the kite
we never flew –
dreams we put away)

were love resolved to limits
rules were written
(were they not) –
was there a way
I came for you
(and others
I’ve forgot)

were birth the death
I’ve come to tell –
think not it be
the one
for truth
defines the seeker –
(a journey never done)

let loose the chains
unlock the ache –
raise the broken window high
take this breath
(my only)
as my last

change of me
as shadows shift –
and colors alter form
lest names
be all the proof (we find)
of light
(we shared) before
