proof

teach us well
of moments spent –
of legions marched
as sometimes do –
spirits danced
within a memory –
names forgot
this passing through

silver blue
as ancient feathers
remnants of some faraway
worn the path
of least resistance –
goddess of the light
at play

glitter pools
in crystal wonder –
all that wakes
was once a dream
through the forest
lest we enter –
worlds beyond the keep
of green

of faraways ~

familiar

of skies
beyond your flicker
I can’t say that I’ve seen –
or whether there is life
beyond my dreams

of faraways
I can’t recall
the ways to here I came –
or where was left the signs
along the night

promises forgotten
to the roads I walk alone –
tho taken of my will
to turn around

echoes force
their way inside
lately now I shudder
against the verse
forgotten not
to rhyme

of all I know
another time –
familiar
unremembered –
paths across my skin
have disappeared

big plans ~

comeround

was the coming back
they warned me once –
of summers without memory
perfume kept
so long –
the essence dried

of late nights
and slow rides –
rolling through the canyons
breezes blowing somewhere
far above

with big plans
and longer words –
listening to the water –
forgotten was the teller
to the tale

wishes fell
ten thousand miles
eternity retreating –
and leaving us as proof
of yesterday

longing
finds me here sometimes
lucid
constellations –
adrift somewhere above
the silent waves

eden stirs ~

lifetimes
since the first hello –
seasons fell to season
and I can
ne’er recall
the taste of snow

or perfume
spent on clementine
jasmine in the spring –
lullaby every cricket knows
silver thread
a fiddle weaves –
wing’eds flying blind
sail me now
the way they know
by heart

by distance
of a lowly beat
measurement of soul –
secrets lost somewhere
above the tide

morning comes
disguised by those –
forgotten it was night
but living as a moment
such as this –

the lowly time
of only times –
who shall proffer more –
than rivers flowed
we called
by other names

honeybees
and cedar trees
needles
nests
and nothing
the grace of eden
stirs within the still

guard us now
the knowing –
eternity is come
as heaven fell to earth
while it was dark

still_of_mine

come
o holiness
unravel
all my mysteries
and nurse this tiny flame
within your light

swarm within
this cavern so –
take to yours this life
passages divine
ten thousand old

carve to name
and sit the sun
still within my stillness
o sweet immortal grace
bestow to mine

eternities
as surely come
reveal yourself again
if e’er I might
become the same
as these

as candle flame
to lure the wing
let my knees be bled
to speak in tongues
the ancient ones
now tell

o Bethlehem
o northern bright
o stranger I have been
seize for me
the morning –
where heaven dares
unfold

promise

november
barely made a hush
when passed outside my door
as traces
of the winter
tempted me

quiet slept
wrapped in snow –
somewhere near the road
but further from the world
than needed be

to see the stars
they aren’t the same
as bright from near the city
I wonder sometimes
lately what you know

magic flies
the liquid night –
on wings of never touching
luna does her best
to stay away

press my words
against the cold –
wherever love is still
wondering the reasons
we were come

just beyond the promise
where spring
her wait is done –
seeds of our november
yet to bloom

stirring

sit to quiet
the morning sun –
here to cool the shade
stay without e’er a need
for words

watch across
the lazy field
as wings to breakfast
fall –
spiraling provision
to the light

rest
before the day returns
be as one with me –
the redtail hawk
and raven –
the ancient evergreen

smile
and I will feel it –
by the telling
in your hand
wrapped in mine
awaiting time to slow

mark the way
and I shall find us
waiting here this night –
sharing then
the gifts of love

beneath
a patient moon

in places
you remember
an unremember comes
when pushed away
from moments
sharp as glass
pieces
in places
of my coming back
remnants of the past –
are held
within each drop
of summer rain

in places
where the water
rushes colder from the spring
whispers spool
as ribbons to the rock

in places
where forever spreads
a blanket ‘neath the black
pieces of my soul
are gathered there

in places
I’ve forgotten
are traces of me yet –
nights without the need
to let me go

somewhere ~

knowing

of those who know
are not so much –
and some are sworn to silence
lifetimes gone
with knowledge
on their tongue –

waiting verse
or page appear
waiting questions asking
which
and where
and who am I
to know

tell me
of the evermore
swims beneath the river –
of mountains
just beyond the reach
of storm

tell me
are there hearts that bleed
rather than surrender –
souls that shift the night
in search of love

where and then
I’ve come to know –
all was never written
somewhere tides
have cleared the lowly shore
galaxies colliding
in the ruse
of letting go –
lanterns blaze to mark the way
we know

tell me
are there others
searching as I am –
caught in life
and dreaming of the sea

within the realm
of going –
the music of just when
the light was shifted –
someone
called my name

within the sound
of words unsaid –
touch already known
to take me where no roads
were ever come

within the soul
of just one kiss
a sigh
becomes a sigh –
as tears embrace
the night with aquamarine

mutterings
of what shall be
if e’er our fears
be lost –
as moments stretched beyond
the place we live

watch the sky
unwritten there –
the failings of tomorrow
seek to know
of everything
and none

speak my name
before the sun –
is risen to the promise
taste the morning air
where I am gone
