graces
come the stars
ten billion nights
as east by west
was taken
thought I knew
of times we passed somewhere
adrift in space
recalled to grace
were moments here
to wander –
light is pulling candles
from my hair

nursery rhyme
of borrowed time
two steps back and forward
as wilderness –
so sweet the letting loose
when sailed beyond
my favored moon
colors dream of me
life is love –
with evermore
to choose

. . .

buzzing

as chatters
of communion –
rush beneath the wake
heaven sleeps in silk
beside the grey
wing’ed soldiers
guarded now – the rights
of letting go
speak as one
within the serenade

as wings
above the rising
blush the story told
how fleeting we –
to fade before the light
were longing
but another –
price we had to pay
dreams are all we’ve left
to stem the fight

beg not
this moment’s best
to win –
our presence
to remember
the way the tulips
crowd against the lawn
the way the mourning
sits atop
sheets of shining steel
to grieve the missing soul
his only one

. . .

last I knew ~

intome

poetry
keeps one more line
as folded bits of you
evidence
to graces
wearing through
cleaved apart my mystery –
held me until then
when last I knew
– once I’d be
again

guarded apprehension
solace works the same –
as years erased
were I
another flame –
sweat beneath the covers
wept aloud at times
for choices
gone the way
of useless rhyme

silently to wander
beyond the feel of light –
tis there
I hold my rest
and take my flight
beholding as to everything
some meaning
to discern –
how much of me
remains
for me to learn

from here

stretched between
the buttons
of purple clover crown
scattered as the petals
yellow red
here am I
(remembered)
to these sweetly
fragile souls
take me
let me hurry not
ahead

the path into
where heaven sits
in silence with the sun
just beyond the reach
of yester night
tarry me a moment
yet –
let the waiting wait
will my soul to blossom –
as lovers
into light

edges of fall 2013

shadows slide
beneath the crest –
echoes into song
the wake becomes our dreaming
to defend
laurel blooms
a sacred curse –
of choices made too few
a promise grew
to will us back again

questioning
these turns of fate
to touch on places tender
would mark as gifts
where skin is burned away
tracing stars
from one and back
ancient silver ladle
pours the light of living
empty into day

without regard
the midnight strains
against the gates
of morning
as red and purple sashes
counter blame
surrendered of another time
we stood beyond
the firelight
and made believe
wings were filled with flame

. . .

wanderinghome

smaller I
the future staying –
a girl was run
into the night
and saved beneath
the moon returning –
to breathe of life
into my words

brushed to vine
the truth in loving –
as tears gone dry
where sorrow rolled
a river toward the end
of nothing
dare I take
my heart – my own

to know of these
to feel for something
more than I
the light became

. . .

almost always ~

whereareyounow

of wisdom
I’m unworthy –
 were purpose writ for me
to walk these planks
so warm
beneath my toes
 as winds to whisper softly
a curse of crooked boards
– to worlds
beyond my seeking
 now I go

as breath
to almost always –
fingers worked around
 – foundation to the temple
of my hands
stars are cast into the morn
where once
forever stood –
light is come
my ways
to understand

forgotten to the map
begun –
one Sunday in the rain
swept her muddy secrets
from my soul
watched a blue horizon
melt into the deep
– I listened
as the tides
of heaven told

wheatandworry

how could you know
unknowing –
of ways before we were
as light between the candle
and the flame
a touch of almost
nothing
fades without you here
how could you know –
my skin don’t feel
the same

as living unexpected
when thought my purpose done
fields are growing
over yesterday
grain is separated
golden from the chaff
as pieces
never meant
are blown away

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAmorning comes
remembering –
another dawn I lay
wrapped in softest linen
counted sleep
folded now to memory –
stored upon the shelf
take me down
as moments –
left to keep

. . .

keepers ~

poetry

as ever was
surrender waits –
we keepers of the soul
as angels watch
our coming –
let us go

morning spreads
eternal –
in blossoms
‘round the throne
now as then
to learn again –
the ways to lead us
home

how sweetly
our becoming –
another life to love
awaits in shades
of yellow
– buttercup

home

by mercy
I have wandered –
as a student to the light
remembered how it was
I came to be
a part of all creation –
what destiny have I
as sister to the myrtle
lark and leaf

how green the river
blood must flow –
to claim my heart anew
where mysteries of blossom
yet prevail
o’er bill and bark –
a briar bent
to wrap around me so –
tied with words
and not a one
to tell

cooler now
the summer path
awaiting for my feet –
a gentle breeze
made softer by my own
voice to greet
the mourning dove –
nightbirds sail beyond
as dreams are washed
into this sweet unknown
