are there days
when you are haunted
whispers to your heart –
a melody you gave to me
so long ago

echoes through the winter
where once you gave it reign
without a thought
to losing all
you know

are there mornings
folded soft
against the certainty of time
a sunrise burning hot
against your soul

floating_petals

blush
where once
the summer fell
to make no sound at all
cedars crashed
beside their brothers
tall

wings –
a sweet inclusion
come fly away with me
beyond the hues
was there
we knew –
the breach of destinies

wrapped in whispered
secrets –
tied with cords of lace
where times before
the past is left
– surrendered now
to grace

love
where not a word
resounds
to tell of how it was
days beyond
our counting –
a silence filled
with us

of sorrows
I’ve forgotten much
daylight
passed between
the dark of dawn
as reason fell away
a place to keep
so holy now
resolved as once
to touch
solace meant the moon
was come to stay

poetry
of wake me up
before the light is gone
leaves are falling
tears beyond
the sun
dreams
of you remind me
somewhere yet unknown
I speak of these
of mysteries
undone

nestled down
in fresh cut grass
a shimmer o’er
the pond
a whispering of wings
above the pines
echoes fill
the places
now am I again
the same I was
tho ne’er the less
divine

as daylight creeps
where words concede
and I shall wait no longer ~
for thought to form
alliance with the page

grant for me
a moment true
when fingers gently folded
to still the pen
from breathing ~
tired verse

as one no more
than these to know
of hearts to ache
with sorrow ~
would be my final choice
to grant them peace

as echoes to the ages
vowels misplaced til then
and someone
not so lost
shall find me gone

replaced by verse
made different
without my thoughts to rest
denied the place
wings are lit
by word

in the space of a moment
a lifetime
forever
another becomes
a second (no more)
than as we foretold
with the last we were here
taken the path
beginning to know

of others surrendered
in learning again
the truth
as were ribbons tied to the trees
and weaved to our soul
souvenirs

of all still to find
in seasons of rest
passing as breath to the breeze

settling somewhere
in places we are
eternal
immortal
as one to remain

a flickering light
spills a flame to the dark
shadows
remembered no more

yesterday
tomorrow
beginning again
we are still
as forever
a moment
of now
