of purple clover crown
scattered as the petals
yellow red
here am I

to these sweetly
fragile souls
take me
let me hurry not
ahead

the path into
where heaven sits
in silence with the sun
just beyond the reach
of yester night
tarry me a moment
yet –
let the waiting wait
will my soul to blossom –
as lovers
into light

already known –
fates are curved just so
ashes bloomed
to gardens red
I knew
you’d find me here
forgotten by
each measure of regret
as verses meant to cut us
thru and thru

beyond the pond
where stillness lay
in wait for any reason
as ripples from this passing
love is spread
beyond the warmth
of memory –
I can’t believe you came
a golden glow
as destinies are wed

moonlight burns
to shadows
planks are warped
by years
of getting on

divining joy
from everything –
floating freedom
fearless
hands are held –
no need for maps
I own

to know me
as you know me –
what weight my words
to fall
as graces
stretched to catch
the gathered glow

split across the colors
back into
these arms –
verses worn
by every letting go

to home
was heaven bound
wings along the roof

of fading reveries –
take to hold
a moment nearly gone

whiskey warms
the fault of dreams
flannel on the floor
pages flutter madly –
silken flame
thwarted by the reunite
years and years
and none –
were written
to my soul
before you came

forever this
was slow to come –
seasons without measure
tides are rolled
tho somewhere –
sands are dry
light is danced above the waves –
please come home my darling
winds are blowing
verses to the sky

rise and fall
as distance easy –
will is washed away
of lessons – once we feared
the worst to know
sew your heart
inside my sleeve –
promise me to write
death will come
before my letting go

twilight pools
on broken shells
worlds beyond our reach
as tiny white
echoes gone before –
letters left of leaving
will find us here again
learning new –
once familiar shores

dust of earth –
within these gentle grasses
whispers hide

to take my breath

to soothe the soul –
while memory – her mother

was made
before this passing
prayers are lost

without none
dreams I never dreamed

patchwork of the living
the coffee has grown cold –
as destinies (foretelling)
long ago

to wonder

where and when
and whether
the path was come
as (fated) – I to choose

the ways before
and all at once
familiar I am finding –
reflection
of a light

here –
have you forgotten
the color of my eyes –
places (I am still)
I loved you so
long before the wondering
got the best of me
you were come –

flush me with stone
to depths gently whispered
a polish too bright
to behold
as journey made over
and over anew
warmed by the rushing
as one with the cold

pour me to seasons
with no way returning
gathered as beating blue fins
neath a wave
with courage of something
much deeper
than telling
of destiny waiting to save

break to my bosom
steal me to wander
out past the reaches
of wishes –
the moon
to places of wilderness
heaven made holy –
by egret
otter
and loon

sail me
on slats
of maple and cedar
chart of my course
by the stars
departed from skies
foretold by our fathers –
to harness my will
from afar

sing me to home
with psalms of the river
blackbird and beetle
nature defends
a name by my going
is forged into memory
by ocean
myrtle
and wind
