between the cracks
where summer sweats
remembrance of the winter
as pink
our favored mittens –
(yesterday)
were granted us permission
to take of all we have
caught us up
in moments
– breath is stealed
away

were sorrows
not so many
tho bliss is kept apart
pressed into the creases
a destiny betrayed
honey bees are floating
out beyond the storm
love is come –
forgiven what we never could
repay

beneath this fragile
knowing –
splinters pressed into
the place of solace come
and who will know
of thought I never
spent to verse
words left out to dry
where time is gone
you must have seen me
fly

above the trees
between the clouds
beyond the reach of song
how many lives
awaited
for us here
I can’t be sure
I told you once
some things I can’t forget
– the color of your eyes
between my tears

tell me now
as you must know –
of moments
we have passed
when promised us a life
beyond these years
carry my
beleaguered soul
into the place of hands
hold my name
within the heart
you own

I’m unworthy –
were purpose writ for me
to walk these planks
so warm
beneath my toes
as winds to whisper softly
a curse of crooked boards
– to worlds
beyond my seeking
now I go

as breath
to almost always –
fingers worked around
– foundation to the temple
of my hands
stars are cast into the morn
where once forever stood –
light is come
my ways
to understand

forgotten to the map
begun –
one Sunday in the rain
swept her muddy secrets
from my soul
watched a blue horizon
melt into the deep
– I listened
as the tides
of heaven told

were truth
by time rewritten
to know my soul by name
weary came a prophet
to declare
the gifts of right
and righteousness –
eternity shall keep
lest paths we walked
by faith
be never shared

who shall fall
to find me –
sins I wore again
are faded as the golden
winter wheat
who shall dare
receive of these –
arms are opened wide
allowing of a song
no longer sweet

of almost there
another tune –
are lines forgotten still
the way made long
tho who can say for sure
what of this
for waiting –
was worth the turning back
into the known
unknowing to endure

moments crowd
a gentle dawn –
tis there the promise sleeps
camped beneath
exalted arms of green
songs are lifted tender
of one more time we knew
of heaven here –
lifetimes pressed
between

however sweet
the knowing comes
in tiny purple petals
as blooms
the same as stars
our light returned
beauty swims in mystery
of longing never settled –
dreams are falling
somewhere still
we yearn

unburdened
by where has gone
the day –
as pieces of our past
are put away

into the realm
of all I am –
what more
we might become
the ways to home
and I
your only one

as stilled
before the waking
to heaven one more time
the light has shifted
now –
as one divine

was come for me
and waited more than breath
the years have left
– to find the key
where’er the lock
be kept

forsaken not
the telling –
were love to reason why
words have lost
their meaning
– as have I

daylight beams
in silent streams
across the place we lay
as I remember
once before –
forgetting you
this way

dare me live
within this hope
of others – none as I
to keep your needs
unlock your cellar doors
as harnessed
by a memory –
became the only one
beyond this setting
shadow –
of loves we knew
before

as written by
the willing rush
of sun into the sea
as scarlet flame
immersed in sudden blue
time denied the keeper
stay with me
the now –
and I shall bring
forever home
to you

was heaven bound
wings along the roof

whiskey warms
the fault of dreams
flannel on the floor
pages flutter madly –
silken flame
thwarted by the reunite
years and years
and none –
were written
to my soul
before you came

forever this
was slow to come –
seasons without measure
tides are rolled
tho somewhere –
sands are dry
light is danced above the waves –
please come home my darling
winds are blowing
verses to the sky

rise and fall
as distance easy –
will is washed away
of lessons – once we feared
the worst to know
sew your heart
inside my sleeve –
promise me to write
death will come
before my letting go

twilight pools
on broken shells
worlds beyond our reach
as tiny white
echoes gone before –
letters left of leaving
will find us here again
learning new –
once familiar shores
