as one
to this reminded
the air I lean into
breath where not a one
our last became
silence spills
into the place
senses lent to word
knew me not –
or reasons why
I came

touch
o more than touching
would I recall just when
verses moved
my weary soul to flight
have me not
the wherewithal
to know as I am known –
flowers bloom
within the darkness
light

make of me
the twilight bent
o’er places I am home
rumors of some other mystery
washed upon
these eager sands
shores
no longer mine
remnants of a truth
I’m sworn to be

come the call
of destinies
whene’er the quiet calm
as needles
neath the tender trees –
were ancient secrets sewn
tho burdened not
the storied lips –
with versions of the truth
stilled the heart
from beating
one last time

frail the myth
of memorize –
as curs’ed ways we fell
with worry not
for leaving with the sun –
breezes blow
across into
arms of sweet refrain
breath has come
another dream
to save

might you stay for a while

once weaved into line
of mystery scored
to the back of your hands
and tenderness written
inside

of miracles felt
to the passing of spring
– petals defined
by the pulling apart –
moments so fleeting
a lifetime I lost
waiting
my breathing
to start

tonight
would you love me
thru the falling back in
with the whispering wonder –
of truth melting skin
a remembrance of always
when the last shade
is drawn

even now –
would you love me
again

surely come
when tears no longer fall
with memory of ache
– of days gone by
straight the fleeting arrow
of time is sailed away
and floats to only this
direction home

dried against another
quilts and woolen sheets
married was a smile
to know the way –
evening waits in coral shades
of everything
we know
seasoned by a memory
of tears

I’ve heard them say
another sun shall rise
committed as the sparrow
to remain
balanced on a northern wind
knowing me this way
tho time has passed –
til no one knows
my name

in sheets of iceberg
melting –
lives before I lived
rest against these windows
unafraid
of seasons gone
to blow again –
across and through my soul
reminders of some other
love I know

forgiven me
an early sky
where every star burns blue
destiny rewritten
to my will
beats beneath ten thousand wings
as one among the clouds
names are wrote
and I remember
still

lanterns sway
as beated black
nightbirds shy away in fear
someone said we’d never see
a better time
to matter here

one more lie
I meant to tell
when wandered this
to vows replayed
wrote my name beneath your own
my sun eclipsed
by living changed

east was west
and south my home –
gave my willing soul a start
miles were written
sometimes still –
are empty pages –
curs’ed heart

becoming
of the place we willed
signs of life along the way
one more time
from once we knew –
warmth beneath
the lantern’s sway

of daylight spread the dark
wingeds sail before

this became –
to stand within a circle
heads to bow and hands to join
prayerful all
amen

here and there
from memory –
were truths we dared believe
but none were yet
so great as love
received

as surely was
forgiveness come
without a starlit night
without a ribbon wrapped
to let us know

eternity beginning
in the place
of here and now
were ever there a wll
to make it so

come again someday –
make of me
a star in all your dreams
say my name
or keep it
save each tender vowel
last year’s plans
have faded from us now

where we were
and what was meant
some other trust betrayed
a moment came –
eternity
has stayed
the changer with the changing
the dreamer
doesn’t dream –
for only this
the passing into light

burdened not by
stories –
or something
someone said
was life before
a ways – for this to find
measured not to hours
passed
when given love’s embrace
tempted not to taste
a breath divine

the softest white cedar
make of my heart
a box by your bed
string me to star-bound
signs of ascension
souvenirs fell
in moments of bliss

pull of my passions
enough to remember –
and wrap every limb
with ribbon just so
dream me from memory
magpie and marble
wake me the night
– my name on your lips
