constellations

to sleep
drifting in oblivion
to forget
wrapped in a black velvet promise
where time is measureless
a stationary orbit
or an endless trajectory spun in light years
like the fluttering eyes
of the dreamer
obsessed
coaxing temporary images
that lure this soul in silent confession
to transcend this yearning
with tear stained pillows
to inspire desire
to recall those souvenirs offered so briefly
upon waking
swiftly
to remember the embers
before they tumble over chalk white cliffs
where the air swirls smoke filled bubbles
exploding with sunlight
to just opened eyes
spying reality
to wish for another patch of darkness
where revelations sit
and the galaxy of longing
sparkles as brightly
as a shooting star

faith

fit to my story
your fondness for words
as tender the telling
another becomes
of where
we are now –
stilled in our knowing
the weight of the light
unburdened
by love

where on the map
show me the reasons
were crossed
as light made its way
to the black
grow me an orchard
seeded by passions –
already you know
(it shows in your smile)

where you go –
I am going
why you came –
I can’t say
but for means of the story
and chapters
retraced

by your breath
on my shoulder
where words are no use
winters made less
by ways –
I’m to wonder

of where
might the chapters
be written tonight
when flush to the willing
of one moment more –

your story is folded
(so sweet)
into mine

mercies

faded white
the promises
I swore to never lose –
though sometimes
I can’t move
within my skin
backward through the
coming back –
onward to the place
where standing now
is standing still
in time

april seems
a world away –
and yet another morning
is pushed against the feelings
I’ve almost
but not forgotten
and eyes
to scan the edges
of a world so few have known
orchids bloom
in shadows
where the darkness
goes to dream

desguised graces

of pages
I was garnered
three or four –
surely there you read me
for the poetry
between –

lulled
while fingers lingered
mute along my spine
as tender pulled
each fragile verse
of mysteries
redeemed

longing writ
to margins undefiled
but for the eager heart
in searching
an unread destiny –
flesh and blood
the shade of indigo

wanderings

wait for me
much longer –
than now the story is
when life became
much harder to resist
ten thousand games
another name
decided from the start
when I was queen
and you –
the king of hearts

built our dreams
from make believe –
one telling at a time
feathers bent to walls
and kisses more
than window
and wysteria –
gates of broken down
fit together passions
for a floor

patched a piece
of weathering –
leaned against the sky
climbed me up
the ladder of your lust –
wondered then
of what would hold
and where the rain
would pool

we’d build a
kitchen there
in shades of blue

jelly jars
of autumn light –
crowns we might have worn
asleep with
purple marbles
in our hands –
trusted for another time
to find the future come

parting now the stars
we knew
by name

. . .

our_history_by_vexingart-d3hjqfy

sew me here
as silence
willing captive
to your sighs
bring into your breath
my willing flight

storied resurrection
of a long ago
reprieve
given words
where none
the heart shall leave

curs’ed moon
for chances took
prophecies foretold
secrets falling
– quiet
to the cold

press me
as forever
to the places
you begin
burst me as a bloom
beneath your skin

. . .

fadingthe butterflies
are drifting –
as are stolen winter wings
were fated by a snowflake
left to die

northern
their progression
higher mountains
richer wines
tho journeyed now
to blossoms not quite bloomed

will doom the flame
from flaring –
the moth to circling
round about
in seasons
without home

who shall say
of these to loss
we might have saved them when
before we gave of lives
we didn’t know

gathered
as a blue bouquet
in treetops of the clouds
swimming out
beyond the evening fog

folded
 to a hurried prayer
spoke before the sun
left to grieve
our souls –
another dawn

signswhat of ways
I cannot change
a place before is still
what fool to think
the past
is ever done

stirs to life
a chilly night
wakes me up at dawn –
watches from the mirror
in the hall

of all I am
the more I will
be stilled by love endeared
beyond the silken shade
of raven rails

of names
that move my heart to swell
flush my eyes to tear –
memories of life
the river rolls

forever heregentle lines
retracing
across a many mile –
verses once I wrote
and gave away

age returns the seeker
to the place
where truth began –
flush against a baby’s breast
one day

written there
  to stories –
every sorrow
  every kiss – the future
blooms in petals
of the past

what of ways
I cannot change
a place before is still
what fool to think
the best
is ever gone

for the first time ~

beyond

beyond
our remembrance
is another retraced
as we wander from dreams
– a thought out of place

forgotten the reasons
to go
as we came –
through the dark
as a light
without presence
or name

beyond
this desire
to become as we will –
some faint recognition
of where we have been
keeps us here
in the moment
we listen – we love

we learn
and pour to the way
of our soul –
crumbs in the shape
of warm golden sands
a reminder
to remember
when we pass here again

to touch
for the first time
these sorrows so sweet
of moments –
but one
moment more

beyond
this beginning
another we know
is writ
to the chapters –
our story retold
in a living of choices
a chance pulled away

paths
where another
has been

shimmers in shadows
familiar somehow
– as the hum
of our silence
when slipped past
the night

choices

polished path
of pearl and jasper –
footprints gone the way
of wave
swirling spires
of ancient winters
imprint of the first
snowflake

anguished depths
of seaward canyons –
creeks are searching
still the proof
cross the meadows
through the mountains –
stormclouds ride
a steely truth

of early breath
the ocean thunders
as backwards flows
the virgin stream
life is passed
the way of reaching –
into the birth
of polished dreams
