story

eternity
was gifted me
this morning
just at dawn –
when reason floated
pearl against the light
pastel pages
fluttering
as books were put away
stories almost ended
now begin

between the place
of getting by –
and knowing the unknown
pathways open wide
to worlds apart
fragile as a robin breath
pushed into the day –
as somewhere now
revival hymns
are played

stones
three hundred forty two
around the barn
and back
sorted once by size
and now by time
measured as girl to grow
knee-high to the mountain –
sings (tho she can’t sing)
of holding on

beauty keeps
a patch of grace –
queen anne’s lace and lilac
sheets are frozen stiff
upon the line –
winds are blowing
cool across these memories
of May –
tender now the calling
back to spring

newdawn

sweet
as befalling
the evidence mine
of warmth faraway
unresolved –
trembling there
by the side of the way
wrapped in red ribbon
clung to the fence

stalwart intruder
fell itno grace and
watched as the darkness
unfolded the dawn
silver and sharp
spun by a cord
perfect
imperfect
covered with scars

living and dying
again to renew
the promise writ down
with my soul
passions unveiled
as the curtains were drawn
and made into sense
by the light

liveyourdream

thunder and rain
silence in one
place I was given
by name

purpose becoming
breath as the first
in a garden
forgotten
so fair
bright as the north
ancient light

golden and silver
tarnished and strong
once as forever
these truths

wings press the night
at the slip into the dark
as soaring
my own reach the trees
graces I’ve known
are given away
lacey white dreams
coming true

luther2011

red tail glides
across the grey –
steely force to wander
silent as a brush
of ancient blues
curves against my coffee cup
whispers of the moon
hiding just beyond
the cedar line

miracle of miracles
who am I to choose
between the life I know
the one I am –
fragrant as wisteria
blooms beneath the frost
wishes for December
nothing more –

beauty plays
within the light
of one more morning after
glows within the essence
evermore
barefoot girl
and virgin snow –
who will find me missing
left as tracks
divine into the wool

disturbance

lifetimes becoming
the only way how –
I could know
all I know
in the presence
of now

melodies played
on the strings of my heart
music I lost long ago
purple wallpaper
and who ever sleeps
in blankets the color
of snow

mercy and mayflies
failed me before –
but somewhere they wait
up the night
cause for no worry
and work with no pay –
dreaming
becoming
a winter in flight

signs on the road
are covered with vine
poison –
and something less sweet
berries and beautiful
go now their way –
split by the path of before
we could meet

paradise deals
in permissions to love –
moments when all becomes clear
names burned away
by the warm glow of life
fingers worn down
by the tracing of years

pieces forgotten
stitched into one –
mornings grown close
to the little white lie
told when nothing makes sense
time leaves a scar
on the coming back safe
lifetimes lived o’er –
our lowly defense

tiny gold teaspoons
blossomed to light –
are home to the songs
(without words)
I recite

…

in places
you remember
an unremember comes
when pushed away
from moments
sharp as glass
pieces
in places
of my coming back
remnants of the past –
are held
within each drop
of summer rain

in places
where the water
rushes colder from the spring
whispers spool
as ribbons to the rock

in places
where forever spreads
a blanket ‘neath the black
pieces of my soul
are gathered there

in places
I’ve forgotten
are traces of me yet –
nights without the need
to let me go

somewhere ~

knowing

of those who know
are not so much –
and some are sworn to silence
lifetimes gone
with knowledge
on their tongue –

waiting verse
or page appear
waiting questions asking
which
and where
and who am I
to know

tell me
of the evermore
swims beneath the river –
of mountains
just beyond the reach
of storm

tell me
are there hearts that bleed
rather than surrender –
souls that shift the night
in search of love

where and then
I’ve come to know –
all was never written
somewhere tides
have cleared the lowly shore
galaxies colliding
in the ruse
of letting go –
lanterns blaze to mark the way
we know

tell me
are there others
searching as I am –
caught in life
and dreaming of the sea

within the realm
of going –
the music of just when
the light was shifted –
someone
called my name

within the sound
of words unsaid –
touch already known
to take me where no roads
were ever come

within the soul
of just one kiss
a sigh
becomes a sigh –
as tears embrace
the night with aquamarine

mutterings
of what shall be
if e’er our fears
be lost –
as moments stretched beyond
the place we live

watch the sky
unwritten there –
the failings of tomorrow
seek to know
of everything
and none

speak my name
before the sun –
is risen to the promise
taste the morning air
where I am gone

. . .

was ever one
a time to see
beyond our mortal sight –
to know
without our knowing
of dark within our light

of stars denied
our wishes –
some mystical retrace
eternities
reminding us –
of moments without place

of gone ahead
and ways to come –
with miles the path til then –
would garner more
than ever fate –
in lives
to love again

was ever there
a loss of self –
another trust to earn –
prayers to lay the night
beyond our reach

was certain come
a place we were
would seal as one divine
knowledge of forevermore –
a time beyond
our time

as only now
of all I have –
of hearts – one soul
made true
wherein I am –
of all I am
as once before I knew

For a while
tho barely noticed
by the passing through of days –
Were a people come
for nothing more
than innocence to save
When gave of all
to keep the truth –
of destinies made right
Returned to evil –
Godliness
Recalled to darkness –
Light
