summer spares
the sleepy earth
carried as the spring
– was passed one day
between the noon and five
brighter my
illusion
of almost anything
I might have said
last sunday
as goodbye
made worse
for ever giving
what it took so long to say
the fields may burn away
beneath my bed
time has nothing
meant to keep –
begs us love or go
the winds
are sure to find me far
the last –
the best I know
there’s more than ache
in hurting –
more soul within the song
tho no one hears
but me –
don’t make it wrong
leaving left
to one last fate
– one more hold me near
the past is nothing
worth the keeping
here
. . .

There are times when the hurting goes beyond the pain, and worth the burning, not worth the keeping. Beautiful, Bobbie. Love, Dee
Thank you, Dee. Surely life is filled with both sorrow and joy. We cannot have one without the other, nor would we want that. Our joys are grounded in sorrow, and are the comfort we hold regardless how long the night or how cold the ground. ~ Much love to you always, Bobbie
Wonderful! Namaste, mary
Thank you, my sweet precious Mary. ~ Ever love, Bobbie
As a poet you are one of the few where something sad when read can feel so good and real! Your genuine spirit gives such endearing life to your poems! As a brother of many sisters and brother who grace your blog each day, your poems are such a delight to read because they have that pure quality that shows they were gifted to your heart by our one true love…the Lord! God bless always dear sister!
Thank you, Wendell. I think it’s more that I embrace the sorrow the same as the joy, for both are blessings of the heart and soul. I do not envy those without feeling; rather, I grieve for them – for the loss. Sorrow is a blessing the same as joy. Without one, the other would be without purpose. Thank you my sweet friend. ~ Love always, Bobbie
