they’ve given place
a time I knew –
and ashes to the meadow
some nights
the wind blows backward
through the gale
reminding me of somewhere else
I stood a moment
longer –
and listened for a truth
I’ll never tell
for all you know
I wonder still –
how much of me is gone
the way of wish and reason sweet –
a path forgot to home
the same as when
we lingered
then –
with will for destiny
dreams
that I’ve stopped dreaming
a place somewhere
of me
would e’er the signs
be sworn to show –
or verses spilled just right
rhyming rules
in silent pools –
tis there I hold you tight
would circumstance
another chance
where’er our stars be crossed
ashes float
on northern streams –
alight with wishes lost
. . .
The magic of your rythmn and rhyme defy words to describe them. This is a dream that hesitates to wake … The colors ache, and the dreamer wakes searching for a pen to write them down as they flee into the light …
….and yet words seem to find their way in the dark. Thank you, Peter. ~ As ever love, Bobbie
“dreams that I’ve stopped dreaming” Every sentient emotion surfaces! I’m bare!
O, Deb, your words always bring me to smiles (and tears)….reminders that feeling is more than one, and love stretches beyond the places we hold. Thank you so much. ~ Ever, Bobbie
“some nights the wind blows backward”… what then, if the life we live in ourselves become a never ceasing wind of one such lasting night?
Oh Bobbie, I read your words through blurry eyes. Your ink at times speaks in precise colors of my blood…. This piece has left my veins in a chill…. ashes.
Keep penning, keep touching, my beautiful friend! Your words have very tender fingers!
Much love xx
in places unforgotten
silent whispers sleep
beholding as the dream
to coming true
Thank you, my sweet beautiful friend. Always, my pen speaks with your voice. ~ Love, Bobbie
So enchantingly beautiful…touching with a certain softness and peace one’s soul! Your words easily hypnotize one to read them over and over again! There is a pleasant beauty alive within them that causes so many readers to come back to embrace them over and over again! Words sometimes do no real justice to what you bring alive to a page. God bless dear poet!
And God bless you, my brother soul………. Thank you, Wendell. ~ Love, Bobbie
