stilled
within a silence
I’d forgotten how it felt –
strained against another
left unsaid
taken
by forever dreams
beyond my lover tears
fated list I made
for why I was
stayed behind –
kept inside
sitting with my sadness
baking bread
and singing to the night
circles drawn
to restlessness –
let me be the longer
folded into joy
the storms betrayed
echoes of a sorrow
cross the darkest sea –
safe within
the drowning –
reminders now to swim
. . .
for Delaney

Intensely deep and sadly beautiful Bobbie… truly you are a gifted soul… your words never fail to stir emotion ….
“circles drawn
to restlessness –
let me be the longer
folded into joy
the storms betrayed”
I always reread your work multiple times — something in this verse really touched me… x Love and Blessings ~ Robyn
Thank you, Robyn. A dear friend of mine recently lost her life partner, and though she feels immensely blessed by their time together, there’s still a hole where song used to sing.
Still (and yet), we know that to love deeply means to grieve deeply…….we don’t miss what we don’t love. Thank you, my friend. ~ Love Ever, Bobbie
A balm to the deepest pain — these words, and the silence afterwards. Love, Dee
Yes, a sweet eternal silence………filled only with gratitude for having loved. ~ Thank you, my dearest Dee. ~ Love, Bobbie
“baking bread
and singing to the night” …..I just can’t see you doing this !!! …unless you’re happy.
Paul
🙂 Nothing like burnt biskits to put an end to sorrows!
Ha ! 🙂
there is a wonderful sadness within your words, as nothing really ends forever because there is always a tomorrow with a new beginning…like a cherry blossom, your poem is perfect!
Thank you, Wendell. You are so right. Nothing really ends, and love is surely the means for us to continue, long past the days of our days. ~ Love, Bobbie
