i shall wait
your permission
save for these wishes
this eager beginning
tell me
somewhere
you loved me another
some other
this way

take of my restlessness
make for me
something
pour me a life
from your will
should ever i fade
let heaven
remember
another beginning
a place
we are still

hold me to circumstance
breathe of my sighs
clear every ache
from these lips
gather me home
a promise surrendered
the last time
you knew me –
was another
like this

you wondered
who I was
and why I came
from places
long imagined
but never said
aloud
in passing –
lest your fingers
be tempted by the red
to begin
an undertaking –
an explorer
undecided where to land
how many streams
for crossing
might delay
your sweet return
to a place
you had forgotten
how to be

bringsmeback

there’s a place
beyond the dreaming –
a distance
not so far
beyond the pond –
beyond the oldest star

a place
become of verses
scripted unto skin –
whispers with
permission
to begin

as gifted
names to carry –
an almost sacred breath
forever
binds this fragile heart
to death

tis truth
tho somewhat fleeting –
as the measure
of a sigh
– promise
without cause
to wonder why

yesterhere

confused
by a promise
I’ll come back to find you
warm as a whiskey –
slow let me learn
of moments made sweeter
of a morning
left broken –
to memories scattered
let me return

to a time
I was willing –
and there you were welcomed
as shadows to dancing
whispers goodbye
telling of dreams
red swirling sunlight –
a cascade of reasons
for your hand
holding mine
