grieve not
the last blue blade
of Kentucky
as years
where the rain fell upon
the reasons for staying
outnumber the stars
– weight to the heart
unconfessed
by the saying aloud
a giving to name
of ways now grown over
as one time I knew –
was proof of the falling
when all that was left
was an echo of days
gone between
breathing
returns me –
as seasons to home
will sit me a sun
at the edge of the sky
pastures made new
by the burning away
– rivers made wild
by our tears
. . .

This made me cry-
So very beautiful Bobbie-
As always, beautiful and heartfelt poetry.
Love to you ~
Well, I don’t know about you, but I thank the stars for tears every day…….. Love you, Cindy. Thank you. ~ Ever, Bobbie
More boyhood memories… Pastures were in “bottom land” that flooded every year and we had to burn off all the debris and detrius left when the water receded. So glad I never stayed on the farm a minute longer than I had to. ~xo~

And yet you did stay….a part of you lingers there still. Thank you, Paul. ~ Love, Bobbie
Only the part that remembers…, not the part that wanted to leave, it left a lifetime ago.
Then I assume there were reasons, and those reasons got you to where you are now ~ which is a good thing. ~ Love, B
