twilight
and one more
destiny filled
by the red crimson glow
of a place by the hearth
warmed me the same
as another
I wandered
to forget all I knew
I had known
like the sweet sons
and fathers
of every goodbye
so sure they were gathered
somewhere
lessons for others
lay side by side
asleep now in dreams
of before
delicate chords
to silence lay claim
betrayal of truth written here
as anything less
than a sacred I will
as lips tasting still
every sigh –
every tear
ages to pass
as moments of treasure –
and who will be left
still to know
the way the sun
perched on the edge
of forever
held by a breath
letting go
. . .
Magnificent poem and so soothingly beautiful…it takes breath and words away! Have an awesome weekend my sister!
Thank you, my sweet precious Wendell. Here’s a hug full of wishes for a beautiful weekend ahead. ~ Always love.
Memories refining life.
Thank you, Salva. I’ve often thought that the worst of all ailments is Alzheimer’s….the thief that worries not for our money, but takes our memory.
Yes, Alzheimer really is tough. You stand, and watch, and can’t stop it.
As always….wow!
And, as always, Millie………….thank you. Although those little words seem inefficient to express my appreciation for the gift of you. ❤
I feel them. I hope you know I am here if you need anything.
“…and who will be left still to know…”?
You will, and I will…, and all the others who care…
Good night, sweetness…xo

I believe a crowd is surely gathering………. 🙂
When I need a deep warm beauty I come visit your writing! I have nominated you as an “Inspiring” blogger. For me you are and others will surely be as well. 🙂
You bless me, Douglas….. Thank you so very very much – for both your kindness and the nomination! Your images are inspiration to many, your heart shining through in all you do. ❤
Dear Poetress…no turning me to mush! 🙂
I TY!
Oh Bobbie, this was brilliant…Your words bringing back the world of the past into my arms only to tell me I have to let it go. And I suppose there are things you really must let go – just as there are lessons to take from that. Beautiful, dear.
Dear Nessa, I’ve come to understand that we never lose anything/anyone we’ve loved. Letting go doesn’t change love……. ❤
