for a while
on yesterday –
a faded patch of truth
and paths set off the road
by getting on
remember me
I’ve asked too much
say my name
sometime
lie awake to wonder
where I’ve gone
beyond the reach
of one more time
beyond a trust
betrayed
there I sit
in denim –
cursing lace
let me know
if e’er there is
a time when you forget
the ways to home
– am I
not over yet
east
and somewhere
ribbons wrap
love around the moon
light is hidden
elsewhere
we began –
with only these
reminders
of the ways
and why we came –
a night tho not so long
to dream
again
. . .

“a night tho not so long
to dream again”
…conjures up all kinds of thoughts and images….. Hmmmmm! 🙂
Words that speak softly but which hit every part of a heart. You make a reader to feel they are with you and hear clearly your conversation. Always so real and genuine! Very nicely written Bobbie. God bless!
such sublime poetry.
especially these passages;
ribbons wrap
love around the moon
beyond the reach
of one more time
beyond a trust
betrayed
there I sit
in denim –
cursing lace
melancholia and hope,
you’ve captured both perfectly.
O, my friend, I’d love to take credit……..but I just write…….. Words knock and I let them in. You are far too kind, and I am so very grateful. ~ Much love, Bobbie
as I wandered through the silence is so quiet…makes sense i think…
to dream again….one day soon ….
beautiful words Bobbie…
Hope all is well in your world….
Take Care…You Matter…

If I’m to put aside the ribbons and the light hidden beyond love-playgrounds; I can’t but hit like for the way you’ve playfully knitted the closure:)
