how many lifetimes
written there
in scars across my plains
aware the soul
in seas
beneath the sea
somewhere else
kept just beyond
the places I recall
comes from time to time
a memory
into these hands
undone –
these wrongs
some sweeter everafter
than I e’er I knew
my staying to absolve
were sin desired
to wake again
in living
swills of laughter –
fading as I am
to scars
unknown
. . .

“…fading as I am
to scars
unknown”
Lovely ending! Liked the random insights this piece carried.
You are so very kind……….. This was partly inspired by a recent book on resurrection – the thought that our scars are proof of past lives, strong enough to survive our leaving. Thank you, my friend. ~ Much love, Bobbie
It is easy to feel the life of every word and the emotion that is felt in each line! All that is said is easy to relate to when one walks long enough the many roads in life. Wonderful poem!
