purple gauze
and great big plans
incense burning hotter –
for ways into the past
we’d never come
sworn to meet
though who knows how
or when the time
for leaving
the universe
remembered us
this way
leaning long
outside the door
offering surrender
I fall again –
whene’er I say
your name
gypsy moth
is swimming
in echoes we’ve forgotten
light is balanced
soft against my sin
then as now
a moment here –
and how was I to ever
think another lost
was never gone
lie again
within my reach –
swirl in day old coffee
forever once
we waited –
another breath to come
. . .

“swirl in day old coffee”…there’s a certain sadness in that line that reached out to me. How strong the sentiments of patience and faith are in this one…beautiful, Bobbie.
It’s difficult to find the words for this one, Bobbie – I found it truly beautiful… xoxo
