starting to see
without sense of the loss
seasons rushed by
nearly blind
caught in the passing
of love into life
forgotten to paths
fell behind
making our way
from pages turned brown –
stories retold now again
passions made true
as embers to burn
than e’er was the flame
to begin
starting
and leaving –
letting us in
long after time
has forgiven our trust
roads cross the same
on the way back to here –
nights never looking
for us
bursted
from light –
at edges unknown
were moments for keeping
this way
dreams bare the promise
we dared never speak
of love –
such a small price
to pay
waiting
for reasons
confessed to the wind –
dearer this fate to allow
remembering wonder
of living relearned –
winters
a part of us now
. . .
‘we dare never speak of love, such a small price to pay’, i love all of the lines of your poem especially this one. Your poem is so hauntingly beautiful, and perfect for the coming demise of Autumn! There is a certain sense, as if a heart laments it might have let a dear moment get away…and yet winter though cold, brings a deeper warmth that renews the heart and spirit within! Such a truly beautiful poem, delivered so wondefully again!
Thank you, my dearest Wendell. Truly, beneath the winter’s bed, a blossom dreams of spring. Your words are confirmation of the thought before my own. Thank you. ~ Love, Bobbie
Just because of who you are, this is for you…..
