was born
within the starlit night
when given chance the lover rose
and flew with tattered sails
into the moon
spurned the reach
of junipers
to rest beyond the dark –
swelled within the arms
of sycamore
children of our spirit sun –
daughters of the light
spoke of one we loved –
a romeo
no different
than the prophet come
and passed outside our door
heard us sing –
and spoke for years of this
the time they knew
when heard us tell
of other paths returning
a life we might have lived
within a dream
but never knew
the details –
who would wash the dishes
and who would pull the weeds
beside the bed
dare me not to heed my heart
a voice of sighs
resounding –
screams sometimes
and I –
I sing along
melodies of far away
distant constellations
were traced along the beaches
of your spine
universes
scattered there
without the night to carry
though once I came
and warmed to them
my hands

Completely intriguing! “the time they knew when heard us tell
of other paths returning a life we might have lived within a dream.” Love, Linda
Thank you, Linda. I’m so glad you found a piece of this to speak to you. This is one that came together in about three minutes and afterwards, I wondered whether a direction had been lost in the writing. Good to know it wasn’t. Thank you, my friend. ~ Love always, Bobbie
Reading this has made me curious to know if we share the same belief; that we are born of star-dust!
“the beaches of your spine”; guess it’s archived in my mind now…
Love & Light
Dearest Mira, I share that belief at times and other times, I wonder how many eternities I waited for this one. In reality, I suspect I was created by a sigh sometime near Valentine’s Day…….. Thank you so much (I love that line too). ~ Love, Bobbie
Thoughts on the life that builds itself in our dreams. Can see it, feel it, but only touch it in fleeting moments in our mind? Don’t we all do this? Don’t we all feel the message that you’ve written here sometimes…, touching, if only for a moment, lives that come in thoughts and dreams. Beautiful job, Bobbie.

I’m positive we do………but I also believe (as I know you do) that sometimes, we’re fortunate enough to hold a piece of reality that makes even our dreams jealous. Those moments shine brighter than the closest stars. Thank you, Paul. ~ Love, Bobbie xo
Bobbie! What a beautiful poem… the title “tattered sails” is beautiful in itself, and then it bows in introduction to your lines that play through the soul.
I particularly adored this stanza:
“melodies of far away
distant constellations
were traced along the beaches
of your spine”
– just divine to read and to feel…. x
Thanks, Angela. I’m so glad you enjoyed this, and that your heart (and soul) identify with these lines ~ the lines of love. Truly, you humble me with your kindness, Angela. My love to you, Bobbie
Dear Bobbie, I hope all flows well within the tornado.
Your poems fill my days with beauty and I’ve nominated you as a ‘Thought provoking’ blog. The link is here, http://leroywatson4.wordpress.com/2012/07/01/riding-effortlessly-nominated-a-thought-provoking-blog/.
I have found these awards etc. a useful tool in discovering new blogs that fill my life with joy. They also make your blog more accessible to the good folk.
I wish you only light and happiness, lee
Thank you, Lee. You’ve just made my evening much brighter and I am so very very grateful! Thank you. ~ Much love, Bobbie
PS – I love the imagery of this and many of your poems. They take me to a land beyond dreams and lost innocence, to the heartland of my soul, where I am at peace and in constant wonder within each and everything.
….then I am blessed to give you passage into that place of light and love……… very very blessed. ~ Love, Bobbie
