another night fades
as the first one to go ~
and tonight there’s a quiet
the lonely heart knows
as the place
once adorned by a voice
on the line
and silence made sweeter
by the passing of time
there’s a bed on the ridge
where grace slumbers now
as destinies grieve
what her years won’t allow
was forever
(a moment)
we passed on our way –
flowers left blooming
in the places we lay –
in prayers as a name
repeated again –
and tears have no shame
for to fall
memories gather
in the shadow of life
and we wonder how soon til
forgotten –
will no one be left
not a soul to recall –
who we loved
why we came –
what we made of it all
more than marks to the page
or dates to a stone –
is someone
to hold us
long after we’ve gone

Get………get to bed! LOL!
I weep with you, Bobbie in the passing of your aunt, truly a beautiful soul. This contemplative poem is filled with so much pathos and deep thoughts that tug at heart strings.
Thank you, dearest Dee. ~ Love, B
Your written word always speaks to my heart! I always enjoy sharing your thoughts! You are a skilled craftsman, what you share speaks volumes of whom you are! Thanks Bobbie!
Thank you, dear brother! ~ Much love, Bobbie
Those lead the way ahead of us always leave a piece of themselves within our hearts. I think you said it just right, Bobbie. Good night….. (and all that other stuff)
Paul.
Thank you, Paul. ~ Always, Bobbie
memorable and honor with tender love still, given beautifully in this poem, Love, Linda
Thank you, Linda. I think that is proof of a life well lived. Those that miss us and love us when the nights grow long and the ground cold. ~ Love you, Bobbie
