calm me down
with whispers –
stories of the road
times you called my name
I heard you clear
above the dreams
of might have been
and where you’ll rest
tonight –
as I with plans
one day
to hold you near
silence stales
the cigarette
lipstick coffee cup
clean the break
of one more living shared
long before the sunset
knew to save
her paints –
your fingerprints
were glowing everywhere
dream the stars
from going
with questioning just so
a universe
where love is felt
the same
as sleep along the highway
counting back the miles
– stirred awake
by whispers
of your name
. . .

Lovely and just, well, lovely Bobbie 🙂
Thank you, dearest Martin………. Your words humble me. ~ Love
Beautiful poem
Thank you, Richard. Always, I am delighted to know my words found you……… ~ Always love, Bobbie
They always do
oooooooooooooooo……………I love that!
😄
Been down the path this poem takes and the only thing that changes is…, nothing. A lonely road that’s longing for something that may never be there…, or was there and has been gone for a long time. Loved the words and the images, Bobbie. Definitely in your top 25. ~~~xo~~~Paul
………whatever the way, it is made less had we never taken it……….and we are made more for the passing……..always, it is a part of who we are………a grace undeserved………a light where none glowed before………. I hope you love that as I do……the knowing what is yet unknown. Thank you, Paul. ~ Love, Bobbie
……..always, it is a part of who we are”
Yes, and, as you said, we would be diminished by never having walked that path. Love you, darlin’ girl,
Paul
The path that is life is sometimes mysterious,
it weaves thoughts and memories together, some
will be realised and others are just left to dream,
maybe these energies will merge and bring forth
a new light, or perhaps fade into the distance.
I like your poem as it gives a real time for thought.
Andro
Thank you, Andro. I love your thought provoking comment. Yes, the path is ever changing (ever changed) for our passing. ~ Love ever, Bobbie
