resolution

I’ll call you
in the morning
when there’s all day to forget
the ease with which
my words are lost again
– the almost
didn’t say it
of another time I knew
yet spoke so soft
my secrets bruised
your skin

I’ll call you when
the sun is turned
warm against my face –
forsaken every chance
to move along
discovering
the only path
– tho how
I’m meant to wonder
with nothing sure –
sleep can’t hold me long

I’ll call you over coffee
and do my best
to breathe

. . .
