spirit lift
as flight betrayed
cool this brow of longing –
raise the window
let the wonder in
of words
my only console
was to find it written
here –
a cause for strength
in memories of light
angels
gather after dark –
to rest above the rafters
silence sings
the sweetest song
I know
lovers wait
eternities
for one more living come –
passed between
our reasons to conceive
blessings
one –
the rest shall let
another breath surrendered
as standing close beneath –
the waters rise
rushing waves
of falling leaves –
wing’eds on the chimney
– sounds to me
the same
within these halls
of light
. . .

Liked the poem, Bobbie, but the picture was just bad memories.

O, Paul, I’m so sorry. I love this image. It reminded me of my childhood and running beneath the clothes on the line. In retrospect, I’m quite surprised I lived to see 13. 🙂 Love to you always, Bobbie
The childhood memories was the bad part
😦 that makes me sad…………
The surprise of language delights — “rushing waves” at first gives a picture of water, but then followed by the line “of falling leaves.” Truly within the halls of light, the light of eternity brings a transcendental perspective. Love, Dee
Ahhh….you did it again. My favorite line, inspired by recognition. In the fall, when I sit on my back porch and close my eyes – the sound of leaves (touching) is the same as the sound of the waves against the shore. When I am at the beach, I can close my eyes and swear it’s the song of the trees I hear. I wonder if they play for one another, when nights are cold and the ground aches. Thank you so much, my dearest Dee. As always, you touch my heart. ~ Love ever, Bobbie
Always gorgeous flow here ~ this is stunning~ xo Love to you ~ RL
Thank you so, my darling Robyn. That you found in these words, your own place ~ well, that’s enough for me. Truly, thank you. ~ Much love always, Bobbie
You bring such a soothing and peaceful bliss with your words that dance in the mind and heart leaving such a beautiful calm! Your words ease away any pain, any sadeness that exists with the gentle pure light they bring to abide within the moment in which they are held so lovingly close. The life within your words have a lasting beauty that never goes away. Your poem is so very beautiful! Thanks for always sharing your heart with us all!
Thank you, Wendell. Were you only a little right, perhaps I could give it all away and cure the world……. *sigh* Such a lovely thought. You’ve blessed my day (as always), Wendell. ~ Love ever, Bobbie
