to places
you are part of
every one – in every way
to dreams
where others sleep alone
I wandered yesterday
to lexington in autumn
endless fields
of winter grain
where friends around me gathered –
seeking refuge from the rain
ribbons kept to letters
nights I read them
one by one
– and listened
as the sirens wailed
into the dying sun
you were there
and I was fearless –
every story bound to mine
with no worry for tomorrow
– or a longing
undefined
of faraway confessions
I’ve forsaken death for love –
was a moment
you were with me –
do you remember where
that was

…..yes.

Ahhhhhh, where to begin?
Those sirens…firetrucks or formidable females?
and then this…
“I’ve forsaken death for love –
was a moment
you were with me –
do you remember where
that was”
Ahhhhhhh, the green-eyed monster bit me halfway through, but then, yes, I remembered where it was! 🙂
Stunning. ~D
….;-) whew…….good thing I wasn’t holding my breath! Thank you, Dan. ~ Love, Bobbie
when space & time mingle then no boundary ever after defines a place…
