within the quiet
where I live –
as graces known before
autumn spills around me –
leaves are falling sore
to bring me now
into this still
where chilly secrets lay
as something more
than e’er my words could say
a wanderer
to southern winds –
a time of fates aligning
as streams to cross
and rhyme to understand
kentucky wears confession
of the pieces
to my heart –
and gifts the light
within my
soul to you
counted one
the end of me –
chapter twenty nine
as postage worn
reminding you of home
voices of forever
ring within my sound
a laughter seems to echo
now in dreams
dear and dearest
who am I –
and where my truth is come
does mystery await
the seeker find
weaved within these ribbons
of auburn silver
blue –
stars begat
the endless sky
as nights are winking true
ancient ways
of tender ache –
a time of consecration –
became these hands
to pull the night around
bring me to the edge
of sight –
return me now
your longing –
a whisper once
remembers still to come
. . .
***within the quiet
where I live –
where my memories fill me with
a warmth that wraps around me through sleepless nights….
your words echo my heart sometimes Bobbie..giving a voice to silent
thoughts….
Beauty within sadness even though the thoughts make me smile…
love you and send a hug across the miles…
Take care…

Then, my words have done their work, Maryrose, for surely they find comfort in your heart……. Thank you so much! I love you! ~ Ever, Bobbie
The second verse is so evocative it is beyond perfect. There’s enough ideas in that for it to stand alone.
“Gifts the lights within my soul to you”, your words are always presented in such exquisite beauty! I feel very humble to read the life found in them each day, and sometimes within them… there is an essence that leaves one breathless as is the case with the words above. So much one receives from the love in your words…that brings hope alive, making dreams possibly to come true….the readers come alive with your words always. Beautiful poem my sister! Have a wonderful weekend!
I feel a tender ache as I read these words… and a remembrance of somebody loved so long ago… Love, Dee
I know you do, Dee……….and long ago isn’t really that long, I suspect. Love reaches across such that eternity hardly seems to notice. Thank you….. ~ All mine, Bobbie
