the sun burned red
against the future
we beheld
a majesty of brilliant light
and whispered
our secrets to the waiting
as iridescent colors
faded
into the west
you were gone
with nimble grace
along a path
unfettered by bones
where air flows
pure
Your phone vibrates
with unanswered calls and texts…
and a picture, the only proof we were.
