let go
and I shall follow
as the shadow to your sun
and lie in sheets
the scent of maple leaf
converted as a lowly soul
found within the waters
and drifted out
as someone more
to sea
hasten as I beg you
do not let these
years be lost –
fated by the path we came
this meaning to forsee
press into
your aching heart
these hands
of solace sweet
and give them rite
to travel
every place
you long to be
given understanding
of another true desire
as passion laid to rest
when none could tell
kiss these burning lips
taste the name
I long to speak –
and share with me
the breath
that was surrendered
on our way
as one I have
remembering –
and nights I couldn’t sleep
for watching to the window
lest you come
standing near the lantern
while the porch
was worn away –
forsaken now the reasons
you were gone
lie upon the floor
these bent and broken boards
that I might be the waking
while you dream
take of me
the everything you swore
you’d never find –
sit the night with words
not written down
beautiful prose and inner images invoking recall, caste for the past and future, loving acceptance that knows no bounds…a soul embrace of all, Love’s dream!
Thank you, my dear Linda for the heart that is immersed in word and the soul that needs none. ~ Love you, Bobbie
Your poem is full of a wonderful passionate need! The words are so full of life, one can but only be swept up in their rare power! There are no words to discribe your poetry…it is always simply beautiful! The one you write to, should come back to you and whisk you away! Lovely write Bobbie, you need to publish a book! It would sell millions!
Well, when they do, I promise to send you a truckload……. 🙂 Thank you, Wendell. I have been blessed for surely, amid the cries of suffering, I always hear the voice of love, whether it calls my name or that of another – always I hear and always I write. Truly, thank you. ~ Much love, Me
This one is special, Bobbie. It speaks of a heart…, to a heart. Beautifully written.
….always

Thank you, Paul. I’d venture to say that most words are that way……even though they’ve been used thousands of times before, they are different in that they are stretched between two hearts……two souls. Thank you (again). ~ Much best, Bobbie
