spare these hands
the writer’s cramp – retracing
broken promise
spare these eyes
the hurt that they have seen
spare this heart
an emptiness (for reasons I can’t say)
that I might tell of autumn skies
and stars that burned away
spare these words a lack of rhyme
curs’ed for a reason
as destinies retold
of lives gone by
spare this soul the winter’s cold –
without a time of touching
a kinder place
to lay me down –
and will to wonder why
A lot of raw emotions here.

Paul
Well, maybe a little……… Funny how something doesn’t feel that way when you’re writing it but then others perceive it that way………. Maybe that’s an indication that this one wasn’t really about me as much as it was a prayer for us all. Although (and yes, I know I’m rambling again), how could we know the joy without the sorrow or the sun without the storms. While we have tea with one, the other sits on our bed…… Thank you, Paul. ~ Love, Me
Sometimes there is such a sadness in your words that make me want to reach out and embrace you to bring a smile to brighten your face! It is another beautiful poem!
Thanks for sharing tonight!
….oh stop! This was never meant to be sad but more like a prayer! You truly can’t imagine how bright my smile is already, Wendell!!! I’m not sure which is my best trait – my smile or my laughter!!! But thank you so very much for the offer! I’ll keep it in case I ever need a raincheck! ~ Love, Bobbie
I understand, the flex between the depth of pain in heart that must be given times to whisper, that the breath comes free….this is beautifully writen, Love to you, friend, Linda xoxo
Thank you, Linda. I am so glad you found this and that you understand the many threads that weave our lives (creating the taspestry that is us). LOL! Of course, it occurs to me that you’re the only woman who’s commented…… 😀 Now I know why you ‘get it’……… [NOTE: Paul, Wendell and Charles, please take no offense. This is not a male-bashing moment.] ~ Love you dearly! ~ Bobbie
Not often I am moved as much… thank you.
Thank you, Charles. Your emotion humbles me. ~ Love, Bobbie
Yet another beautiful piece…
Felicia
Thank you, dearest Felicia. ~ Much love, B
Loved the way you pray in Gods’ name; it’s me demonstrated here praying in the name of the Infinite for Mother Nature to reply & shower her cures..
Love & Light
Thanks, Mira………and I’ve been praying all morning for those same sweet (drenching) showers! ~ Love you. ~ Bobbie
in no* God’s name.. please correct
🙂 Dearest Mira, God is more than one name (and more than one thought) Love goes by ten thousand names ……….. Mother Nature, Father Sky, Lord. I pray to love……….. I will update if you wish, but I don’t think it’s necessary unless you do. Love always knows where we are. ~ B
