teach me to love you
as once I did love –
speak into being
the will of the winds
save me
from waking –
as I have been dreamed
in clouds o’er the canyon
in seas neath the sea
help me
believe me
give me the answers
were mine for the asking
but whispered away
touch as was tempting
eternities promise
a lifetime no more
than a moment replayed
of powers revealing
all we were then
e’er we are still
with reason to find
of truths – only this
keeps a place on my pillow
and warms now the shelf
known as time
teach me the ways
you have journeyed to find me
show me the place
where you lay
draw me a chart of faraway fathers
stars as we passed
yesterday
tell me of others
moments we gathered
glistening sand –
would forever we trade
teach me to love you
as once I was love –
a really achingly beautiful poem, Bobbie. I felt “taken” by its passion of soul and heart-appeal so gentle but raw with a “glistening” honesty.
…….and that’s more than enough for me, dear Linda. Actually, that my words find a place with you is enough! ~ Love you ~ Bobbie
Bobbie, this warms my bones and creeps softly into my core, and I especially love the closing lines… xxx
🙂 Thanks, Vanessa…….. I’m so happy you like it! ~ Love, Bobbie
A heart’s cry if ever there were one…~D
Oh, no! There will be no crying! SNAP OUT OF IT! 😀 Thank you, Dan. ~ Love, Me
beyond romantic, just sweeps me away into love’s warm embrace.
Where you were already……… 🙂 Thank you, my dearest Dee. ~ Love you, Me
