within the depths
of aging hearts –
are memories of love
though some a ways have gone
and paths grown thick
so few without
a name recalled –
for where they sleep (I wonder)
with pieces of my past
to resurrect –
in stillness now
a soldier lies
beside a fallen angel
while rows of plastic roses
grieve them gone
wherever grace be given
their silence warms the breeze
a kiss to seal
(stories left untold)
forgiven me
these rites of life –
might I their voices carry
o’er words another saved
of times to tell
bring them back
with tears of truth –
midnight recollection
of places come to light
within my own
let not them rest uneasy
or music be denied
a place to play
beyond the moss –
where lies eternal love
Most lyrical and soothing image from your pen….”wherever grace be given their silence warms the breeze” , beauty even beyond “death” and love the image of “midnight recollection”….these and more are so beautifully crafted. Love, Linda
Thank you, Linda. If my words leave an impression on your heart, they have certainly exceeded my lowly expectations! Thank you so much! ~ Love you, Bobbie
Bobbie, you have an affinity for speaking what’s left unspoken, for remembering what many have forgotten. for knowing the interaction and continuing saga of life before and the now. You are the voice. You write, and ‘they’ are heard. Love you, xoxo
OMG@! You’ve just made my day, Jeannie………. 🙂 I love you and thank you! ~ Bobbie
nice but the 3rd echoes most…
peaceful weekend
Thank you, my dear one……. That was my thought as well………something about it resonates through me (and I learned a long time ago not to question that feeling). Thank you and I hope your weekend is wonderful as well……….. Be blessed. ~ Love, Bobbie
