for taking flight –
wings to beat the branches
timber bends
as heaven wills
us home
wrestled with the best
of us –
someone stays the night
as passion works
the covers –
we become

wonder wields
a frightened flame
there beneath the trees –
fireflies are flirting with a song
known only by the willow
carried us between
tears are warmed
by places
we belong

of knowing
I’m uncertain –
of all I’ve come
to find –
