how could you know
unknowing –
of ways before we were
as light between the candle
and the flame
a touch of almost
nothing
fades without you here
how could you know –
my skin don’t feel
the same
as living unexpected
when thought my purpose done
fields are growing
over yesterday
grain is separated
golden from the chaff
as pieces
never meant
are blown away
morning comes
remembering –
another dawn I lay
wrapped in softest linen
counted sleep
folded now to memory –
stored upon the shelf
take me down
as moments –
left to keep
. . .

Ah, the sweetness of memories held that do not fade with time
Like the sweetness of a song and rythm with the rhyme. ~~xo~~

“another dawn I lay
wrapped in softest linen
counted sleep
folded now to memory –
stored upon the shelf
take me down
as moments –
left to keep”
I can feel the breeze coming through the curtains and wanting to hold the linen tighter as I counted sleep and forgot the count to keep so I am wide awake in the morning light still folding memories….
another one….*sigh*

always love to you for the words you pen to paper that I know so well
I love that line, ‘folding memories’. I think that’s what we do when the night grows longer than our will to sleep…….. Casting shadows in hopes of catching a dream. Thank you, Maryrose. Always, you know I know your heart…..and am blessed if these words speak for more than one. ~ Love you, Me
A smile is always left within me, as i feel the embrace of your words…thanks for the healing lift Bobbie!
