I’m hearing voices
and seeing signs –
sparks where stars
once played
as ancient spirits come for me –
to steal my words away
of violins
and neverminds –
are reasons I don’t know
memories
to claim my porch –
pile up with the snow
been here so long
the roads have worn –
and weeds are folded over
on places once we wandered back –
to spend but one
in clover
shared a dream
tho not so much –
for fear to curs’ed fate
squandered not our destinies –
on lifetimes come
too late
promise
of one more embrace –
words survived the fall –
love needs not a place to be
but spreads
to take it all

🙂 are those pens or is your keyboard broken, Stephen. ~ Love, Me
No, those are exclamation marks to say that I liked this poem very much.
I wanted so badly to assume that option, but dared not speak it! 😀 Thank you, Stephen. You just made my day. ~ Love, Bobbie
You’re very very welcome!!!!
“I’m hearing voices
and seeing signs -”
I just knew it !!! You’ve finally gone over the hill !!!!! Ha!
Really liked this, Bobbie, especially the last stanza.

🙂 If I weren’t hearing voices or seeing signs, I’m fairly certain anyone who knows me would start looking for pods! I’m always hearing and seeing what most don’t. Thanks, Paul. ~ Much love ever xoxo ~ Bobbie
Couldn’t agree more; we’re the land & love conquers it all..
by the way “hear” is a non-continuous verb
Love & Light
LOL! I read your note and thought, ‘what is she talking about’. I’d never heard of such a thing; although mindful I live in the rural southern US so we use words in sometimes totally unconventional ways. In this case, I had to go do some research, and you’re absolutely right. Although in the U.S., it is a perfectly acceptable use of the word (or at least Yahoo answers thinks so). Whew. I thought I was going to have to rework this whole piece, because ‘I’m listening’ just wasn’t going to get it. 😀 Thank you, and as to the other, I somehow thought you might. ~ Love you, Mira. ~ Bobbie
O’ Bobbie; I do know it’s said much till it became to many grammatically-correct, but what I’ve learnt in linguistics has made me doubt I’m native:)
You may just write “hearing”, it can be a gerund:) & it won’t mess up with your meaning…
Hugs
oh yes……..I might try that. 😀
the last verse did it for me…
🙂
…….mmmmmm…me too 😀 Thanks, Vimal. ~ Much love, Bobbie
A rose of a poem in its beauty…very delightful to read and enjoy!
Thank you, dearest Wendell. I hope your day is blessed as you have blessed mine. ~ Love, Bobbie
